It is being built on an old gravel and grass lot that was for football parking. I am going to guess that yes they had to do drainage but are you saying that should cost 20 million or more just for the drainage? If so, I want to be in the drainage business!

One big plus for State was having Janet Smith in on the design.

Reading that "Canny rolled the dice" with his recruiting reminds me of Turtle Thomas's days at LSU. Year after year he would get signed commitments from elite players around the country & come time for classes in the Fall, more that half would have signed with the pros. His rolling of the dice finally caught up with him & LSU baseball paid the price.

It was Cann's first class and EVERY SEC team that signs elite players loses some to MLB .. even LSU.

The old Dudy Noble will hold a lot of nostalgia like Rosenblatt in Omaha does. But like Rosenblatt, the ole Dude had done its time so to speak.
I loved the LFL but I get it that the potential liability issue for the University was a ticking time bomb. It is a miracle that somebody had not died from a fall from one of the Contraptions.

The new stadium is going to be awesome but like anything new, it will take a few years for everyone to get acclimated to it. All the amenities that it will offer along with a great team and the best fans in the country will make it a great ball park. I can’t for 2019 to get here.
I think you'll really like the double deck grandstand--just gives the place more of a big league feel, on top of the action, as opposed to the single deck parks with no slope that are so prevalent.

His job description as recruiter was to bring the best possible HS baseball players to come play for the Tigers. He did his job...so he good.

I heard Janet speak a few years ago at graduation. Unlike so many commencement speakers, she was actually interesting. We also had Stanley (The Office) there. Someone said he had a niece graduating that night.
