Also a pretty good back by the name of Jacobs that is kinda good.

Only 4 rushes for 17 yards last year though. Bama can probably replace that production okay.

LSU's defense won't be on the field the entire game this year because the offense can actually move the ball.

Hasn't practiced since injury. They say they expect him to play, but you know how these things go. Maybe he is 100%, maybe not.

ESPN stats

I would say that LSU's ineptitude on offense was a large factor in the Bama offense putting up the total yardage numbers. look at total plays run from both sides and the difference in TOP.

however, the 7.6 yrds per carry if it happens again this Saturday, Alabama will win..... LSU is currently averaging giving up 3.0 yrds a carry

281 rushing is not a reasonable expectation for Alabama. While getting anything close to that would be fantastic, we do not have the move/shake/speed that J Jacobs and D Haris brought last year. This year's tandem of backs are good at popping 10 yard carries, I would expect the LSU 3rd level speed to cut that down a little. Our Rb's do not have the break-you-back speed to pop long runs on the LSU DB's.

If LSU spends alot of time in man-to-man, the 10 to 15 yard runs may well be there in the late 3rd qtr on.

But you did get Devin White back to shut that shite down in the second half.

If I'm not mistaken, Aranda's "scheme" tricked Tua into throwing his first interception of the season in the 1st half.

But the offense still had Burrow under center, where the only quick-hitting play is an off-tackle run. Everything else was too slow to develop with Alabama's DL getting pressure with just 4 rushing.

The LSU offense couldn't stay on the field and the defense got worn out? TOP was 35:25 minutes in Bama's favor.
Last year means nothing!
This LSU offense should move the chains and give the defense some rest.

Delpit's status is my biggest concern at this point.

I think Bama is favored for a reason beyond home field but this is a game that could turn on one or two plays.

would actually argue our line has made upgrades.

If this is true and y’all have virtually the same guys, why are y’all a worse rushing team than last year?

I will happily give up 281 on the ground and 29 total points this year. LSU drops 42 plus on Alabama Saturday. Your defense is not as good as Auburn’s and in or with Florida / Texas. Lewis is the only person on your D that concerns me. Brady will tan at him and use Moss to chip him on pass plays. Moss is devastating on the chip block. By the end of the Florida game both defense of ends were out of the game due to his chips. I don’t see Louis making it the entire game if Moss chips in 10 to 15 times in the first half.

True. I enjoy watching Harris run the ball.

bama has excellent backs, but if LSU limits the bama TOP by slowing the run game, that is a YUUGE plus for the Tigers.

Would be ironic if both teams have more success running than throwing.

Damien Harris doesn't play for Bama anymore and he had 107 rushing yards last year against LSU.

We couldn’t fricking stop that guy last year.

Neither defense will stop the other. It's just a matter of who can make a few plays.

I would actually argue our line has made upgrades. Your offense has changed, but your defensive scheme hasn’t. You were stopping the run up until the Bama game last year, but still gave up 281 yards. I believe Saban just has your number. What makes you think it goes any different? Looking for a serious discussion here.

You are entitled to your opinion but I think it’s a strange take to think this game is going to be decided based on either teams running game.

Last year LSU had a completely incompetent offense that continually kept the defense on the field. Things have changed... With that being said, there is no denying that Bama is extremely talented at every single position. I'm expecting a better game overall though.
