I would actually argue our line has made upgrades. Your offense has changed, but your defensive scheme hasn’t. You were stopping the run up until the Bama game last year, but still gave up 281 yards. I believe Saban just has your number. What makes you think it goes any different? Looking for a serious discussion here.

LSU is defending the run better this year statistically but your point is valid. No one is expecting LSU's D to dominate this year I would think, but LSU is still a talented fast Defensive team that could make a few game changing plays.

The biggest hope for LSU is offensively. A more mature line and a better scheme for starters. Needless to say Burrow and the skill guys are also playing much better. Florida dominated LSU's OL last year and this year LSU did the opposite; so it has already showed sings basically the same personnel is playing much better now. Bama defensively is still very good but maybe a step below previous years.

Bama is the favorite for a reason but LSU seems to be better equipped this year to at least be in this game.

Tyler Shelvin for LSU got himself to a reasonable weight to be effective and Rashard Lawrence has finally seemed to get healthy and they are very big dudes who are doing good at stuffing the run. Shelvin is a different player this year.

D. Harris and Tua had about half the yards last year (one is gone and Tua likely won't be looking to run - though he really just had all the yards on the one long run of 40+). Robinson is a tough runner and Harris did run all over LSU last year in limited carries, but I have seen LSU's run D improve this year. I expect Bama to get some yards on the ground, but I think the big bodies inside can help more than they did last year.

You overall were better at running the ball last year.

Last year’s front 7 was pretty ragged by November plus no Chaisson at all, no White 1st half and Shelvin couldn’t play more than a few downs. I like our front 7 much better vs the run this year.

We fidna see.

Alabama had all of 25 yards rushing in the 1st quarter, 54 yards in the second, for 79 rushing yards in the 1st half of play. Considering how many 3-and-outs LSU had on offense, by the time the second half rolled around with Alabama leading 16-0, the defense was gassed and the offense didn't show they could even score.

That doesn't even make sense.

Neither does that.

Damien Harris doesn't play for Bama anymore and he had 107 rushing yards last year against LSU.

Our utterly terrible offense last year contributed to those numbers. 3 and outs all night long. I think Bama TOP of was 35 minutes to 25 for LSU.

Our run D is much better this year, but Divinity out could be a game changer, along with status of Delpit.

If LSU gets the TOP more equal and moves the ball like they are capable, Bama shouldn't get those crazy numbers again.

True. But you did get Devin White back to shut that shite down in the second half.
