Piling the dredged material onto the bird sanctuary area was a mistake. The cost to dispose of it was likely higher than thought.

The result is a significant portion of the lake is now gone to make a home for the silt that was dredged.

And it looks like a low bid job.
Security folks are becoming a thing because it works.

They let people know what is private and what is public regarding the beach areas. There are a few of these guys in Sandestin and there is no issue.
XM College Radio ran with that storyline today.

FWIW.
Sounds like you are north of 98 and relegated to public access.
Family / friends own property there.

The basic guideline for the MHWL is where the dry sand starts. Period.

It is the 18 yr avg for the point of one foot above the water level. Some days that is out in the surf.

And we’ve never heard of anyone stopping people from walking by or thru the dry sand.

You just can’t set up camp with your red igloo and Walmart umbrella.
Uhh - no.

Walton County has tremendous construction going for apartment complexes and planned neighborhoods. They need these for support of the growing local workforce.

You are correct that Walton County is unique with the beachfront properties including the sand to the MHWL. But that is not affecting tourism and rentals, even though the Karens like to make that claim.
The “Shoreline Defender” might be bent out of shape on this for owning property not on the beach and wanting access for renters.

Kind of a fraud.

Tell us you know ZERO about public golf without telling us.

Pathetic.

Being in the middle of BR is a plus IMO.
And Walton County lost their suit against the property owners.
Buffoon. Really.

Happy hour start a little early today? Maybe the 4:20 time stoked you.
Just get out and see for yourself.

LONG checkout lines everywhere.

Maybe the tariffs are 2 for 1 on Friday.
If there no state borders they would rank slightly ahead of La Tech as the little brother.

Play the Preserve twice.
Del Rio was the pick.

But Skip wouldn’t wait two days for the NFL season to end to sign him. So he got Miles.

And Miami should be ranked ahead of the Irish.

The “better losses” argument is for, well, losers.
If trimming “the fat” out of the Council on Aging is a benefit of this vote - WINNER!

A Democrat operation with unlimited funds and NO oversight. What could go wrong.
