MIL has just announced she's staying until NYD

Just after breakfast she told everyone she won't be leaving until Wednesday. Just straight ruined my plans to crush some puss especially on New Year's Eve. This woman is always up throughout the night. And she can hear a fart two rooms away much less the "Oh God", "Oh Jesus", and "Not that hole"my wife is prone to saying.
I'm not a jerk and I don't want the woman to be alone on NYE but I would like to ring in the New Year and decade with my wife. And by ring I mean "tap dat arse". What's a baw to do? I had been looking forward to some romance followed by some crushing (followed by look of dissatisfaction 3-4 minutes later).
Now it looks like all I have to look forward to is watching a ball drop Tuesday, while mine remain dry.

A lot of the criticism of the movies is that they are trying to come out with something SW universe related every year and that it is not always well thought out or developed. Plus after Solo's mediocre performance they shelved the series of prequel movies
Looks like Disney moved up the Mandalorian to coincide with the release of Disney+ and to try and prep the audience for ROS. Originally they had planned to release it after ROS. So, basically, Disney has committed another goof in handling their SW properties.

It looks like they hashed out everything in a 1 hour meeting. Chris Nolan famously said he got the outline for the Dark Knight trilogy after reviewing The Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year 1, and Knightfall. But it looks like JJ Abrams and company didn't really bother with even reading the essential backstory for the films they were trying to create.

Looks like Bama ran the same play twice earlier. In the 2nd quarter Mac got sacked on the same walk-up blitz of the edge. On the other Mac threw an incompletion.
Either Bama was tipping this play by formation or Barn knew Sark is predictable in the red zone.

that came out post ROJ. These books were in large part deemed non-canon. And to be honest some of these books were :lol: and some of them were :wah:.. But there were some good ideas and some really great concepts that would have eliminated many off the messes of the last three films. For example
1). Han and Leia have three kids- twins Jaina and Jacen and another son Anakin. Luke marries a force wielding won and has a son named Ben. The post ROJ conflict revolves around this family dynamic. And this would eliminate the Mary Sue-ness of Rey.
2) The Republic becomes more and more like the Empire as the Galaxy is invaded by forces from a different galaxy. Turns out that the Sith foresaw this and was Palpatine's rationale for establishing the Empire. These forces eliminate the need for the First/Final Order.
3). Darth Plagueis is still alive BTS and he is manipulating events and is also perhaps the father of Anakin. Yaaaayyy! No midichlorians.
I'm not all that familiar with books. Maybe others are and can point out additional plots that should have adapted. Also let's try to keep this thread as devoid of SJWs hurt my feelings/but muh SJW feelings responses as possible.

I act like I'm going to hand him the money but when he opens the door I jump up on the step and I start smacking him until he drops my truck. Bastard got my license plate number and pressed charges . The University Police said I was correct about the driver having to drop my truck, but I didn't have the right to assault him even though he was (a) stealing my truck or (b) trying to extort $50. So I got booted from LSU for a year. As far as I'm concerned the mofo got what he deserved.
I ended up with deferred adjudication which was basically a year of unsupervised probation and the charges were dropped.

and basically done the same plot much suffering could have been averted. We could have had two much better movies combined with an honorable farewell to beloved cast members.
ROS isn't a bad movie. Face it. Star Wars has been in a spiral since Lucas sold out and gave us the Ewoks. ROS is probably the best movie since then. But when you think of all that has been wasted and what could have been it does make one sick. Even some of the novels would have been better as adaptations.
