Texas Tech has a history of choking. My good friend's Dad in 2008 bought national championship tickets in late November when Tech had Crabtree and beat Texas and were ranked #1. He has a small oil company in Shreveport. They blew that. They blew winning the Nati, up with 5 seconds left, and let up a 3 to go to OT with UVA.
