Those are the real snowflakes.

If we start seeing these garbage slogans on football jerseys, then I hope they do get football shut down. These morons in the NCAA and NFL are putting their hats in the ring with the very people who always hated them to begin with. They're going to get exactly what they're asking for.

No one wants to be preached to when watching their favorite team.

Sports is an escape for folks. Now it's just as political as the other junk

The problem is freedom of speech for all players regardless of their beliefs. What will happen to the player that wants All Lives Matter on their uniform? How fast will his teammates turn on him. See Drew Brees for example. If this is allowed it will divide teams and fans. Politics and social issues should stay out of college athletics.

What SEC football fan is going to stop watching SEC football because some or all players have a small BLM patch on their jersies? You really gotta be a snowflake to get upset enough about this to stop supporting your team.

This is easily avoidable. The NCAA needs to be "apolitical". Apolitical means "non political" for those of you in Rio Linda.

Yep. If you think about it, it's actually quite hilarious.

I agree with this, and I was always taught to keep politics out of your work as much as possible because it will cost you business. Do it on your own time. A football game is not your own time.

Bye.
Nobody with any significance to the human species cares about this. Your “outrage” further proves your insignificance.

Only if small people who constantly worry about what everyone else is doing let’s it.

It’s a patch. Who gives a shite. Will it make them run faster? Will it make them catch or throw better? Ignore it and move on.

I wonder what Tim Tebow thinks about all of this?

Didn't they make him take the bible verses off of his eye-black?

Well then you have nailed it. If it doesn't matter then don't do it at all.

That was basically the reasoning the NCAA used to ban messages with "The Tebow Rule" in 2010. They didn't want people taking advantage of that situation and having combating messages on different players' uniforms (eye black). They also used the reasoning that the intended purpose of eye black was to shade the sun, not display messages. So, I guess we find the NCAA continues to lack consistency with anything they do.

Wrong sir. Its not just a patch. Thats both figuratively and literally.

The message can also be place where the name goes.

Second, there is noway they will allow an opposite view on a jersey. That will lead to. A massive fight in courts with schools having to pay.

Splits in locker rooms... will happen.

Private school can go that route, but public will be sued at every turn.

For State funded universities, they really won't be able to censor what a player chooses to put on his uniform without infringing on Constitutional rights. They'll probably try, but like you said, their legal expenses defending it won't be worth it. There are also federal laws that prohibit political messages on government property. Technically, the uniforms players wear on Saturday at State funded universities are state government property. It's the same thing that prevents state employees from displaying their political beliefs, such as a campaign button, while on the job. On the other hand, laws haven't seemed to matter lately, so who knows. Not sure how they plan on circumventing that. I guess they could argue that the uniforms are the players' property, but then how can they also argue they forbid players from selling said property. Needless to say, a big can of worms has been opened.

Small patch on the front and size on the back like where players names go. We will see it.

Stand fr something or fall for anything.

In reality, it is going to hurt sports. The people watching sports are not all about SJW slogans and want it left out of sports.

Why? That is a great question 3down10. Because of the same talk on this board. You don't want this board littered with political talk. Yet the NCAA is firmly putting the boot down on the fans and saying you will take it or don't watch.

the NFL tried that and the rating flopped. The NCAA crowd is FAR more active than the NFL crowd.

And again, some kid who wants to make a point will make a point and sue the hell out of the NCAA. Do you think that the player that wears a "All lives matter" message is going to be the target on a field?

There are so many issues with this people are going to stop watching.

I also don't get upset when someone puts their religious views on TV and thanks God.

It's called live and let live and it's the true price of freedom. You are no different than the culture cancel people you likely bitch about.
