Why does Southern Miss have a nicer baseball stadium than Tennessee?

I love this revisionist history that John Cohen is a big USM fan because he coached at Mississippi State, when he did everything in his power to delegitimize Southern Miss during his time at MSU. Tennessee fans really are that retarded.
Both Ole Miss and State just act like they don’t exist. Their few fans have forever said “we would be competitive in the SEC! More than Ole Miss or State!” while routinely getting their shite pushed in and winning one game every 5-6 years against decent competition

Any Ole Miss fans wanna weigh in on this? Didn't yall win in 2 games there last year? Shut them out both games?

You mean the eventual National Champions? Not the best example.

They don’t. They are both shitty stadiums. USM’s several years older. USM just lets people sit on a hill.

They also claim that Ole Miss and State quit playing them because they kept losing to them. I have a lot of USM friends, but all fan bases have delusional fans.

Tennessee doesn’t need a bigger stadium. Not enough interest. Maybe 5-5.5k max.

They really need to revise how teams get hosting priority. Should be resume based instead of corrupt back room deals. Auburn’s AD did the same thing earlier

If you're talking about having transparent guidelines for the initial #1 thru #16 seeds and regional host then I would agree. However, when two #2 seeds (or two #3 ot two #4 seeds for that matter) from regional sites that are matched together for a Super Regional both win their regionals you have to make a judgement on who hosts the Super on a case by case basis.

It can go either way when a #2 seed matches up with another #2 seed in a Super. I like Tennessee to get by Southern Miss regardless of where it's played but USM is more than justified in getting the nod to host given they were likely a slight bit closer to hosting last weekend than Tennessee.

If anyone has a beef with the committee it's Alabama. Right now we should be either hosting Tennessee, Oregon, or TCU in a Super Regional or playing LSU in the Baton Rouge Super Rdgional. As an Alabama fan I would gladly trade spots with Tennessee right now. We got a brutal draw from the committee.

Both teams historically have performed better in road supers than home supers, albeit small sample sizes for each. So before Vol fans get their panties in a wad maybe this is a blessing in disguise?

Maybe they’ll score a run this year at the super regionals…
Ole Miss can watch from home, just like last weekend, and the weekend before that.

So far I’ve seen 2 Vols fans upset. They just beat the ACC champs IN Clemson, so Hattiesburg shouldn’t be that daunting. I’m well aware of the TN hatred on this board, but their pitching is simply better than USM’s. I’m picking the Vols in this regional.

Thank goodness. We have all been waiting to see who you would pick.

Agreed, making Lindsey Nelson larger than 6,000 seats makes no sense right now and is always an expansion that can be done in twenty years if interest is sustained. Tennessee had the perfect confluence of a solid team in 2021 plus COVID apathy that helped make things really exciting in 2021 followed by the huge success of 2022. You don't become State/LSU/Arkansas in fan support overnight, which would be very apparent if the Vols tried to sell 9k tickets every game.
