No ASU lead is too big with their bullpen,

Their bullpen won't matter if their pitcher throws a complete game against us.

it's not an NCAA rule, though, so it's not really an odd rationale. Teams agree whether or not to use it in OOC games and it's a conference decision in conference games. There is no NCAA rule that establishes a run rule. Conferences/teams have just started adopting them more to save pitching

It was added to the NCAA rule book in 1993 where it basically lay dormant and unenforced until the SEC decided to do use it in 2023. In 2024 most other conferences adopted it, and either last year or this year the umpires were told across the board to enforce it.

I’d save him for Game 3. Holy Cross is really bad.. They have played 4 teams with an RPI below 100

0-4 with a -44 run differential

It’s a gamble, but one you have to make imo.. that gives you a good chance to reach the regional final

That is too risky imo. However unlikely the odds are of Holy Cross knocking us out, it would be malpractice if UCSB went 0-2 with our ace - a projected top 5 pick - not pitching at all in the regional.

But I was wrong about him starting vs Tarleton so I could be again.

We’ve got to start running his pitch count up. Hunter won’t finish 6 at this rate. We are in a tough regional.

He dominated State for 5 innings, then just hit a wall.
His stuff is nasty, though

Is that first base umpire the one who was the home plate umpire in the CWS final game?

Bracket sets up well for Mississippi. They win this regional and then host Supers. With UCLA out, they would win the first game in Omaha. Then, the 1-0 game is the season if they want to win the CWS.

This is why you choose the early game when you’re the host. DVH always chooses the early game when we host.

I'll believe we win tonight / win this regional when I see it.

Also, it would not surprise me one bit for Auburn to come back and win their regional. Same with UCLA. Way too early to just write either of them off

That's not how it has worked for the 30+ years I've been watching college baseball. Sucks if true but I doubt it.

ASU doesn't challenge an obvious safe.

This couldn't be more incorrect. We absolutely wanted the early game but the networks forced us to play at 7. Then the game got moved up to 5 and the network that strong armed us into playing second didn't even air the game

For 30 years the host has gotten to pick early or late game. You’re telling after 30 years they decided to just frick Georgia? Yeah it’s more likely wherever you heard that is full of shite. Host picks game 1 or 2.

Feels like the ASU pitcher is getting squeezed by the ump right now
