But he went to see his cousin! Isn’t it wonderful that UT would charter a plane to bring him to campus. I’m sure they do this for everyone - not just top ranked football players - who wants to visit relatives.
Can I get a ride? There is a cousin I’d like to visit.

but there are rules on recruiting, that's the question here. NIL doesn't matter, if he got a free flight to knoxville then showed up on campus, there's a problem.

Exactly

NIL / booster money is prohibited from being used in the transportation / campus visitation part of the recruitment process.

It appears that all Tennessee fans on here are incapable of recognizing that NIL and recruiting are two separate issues. It also seems their collective is incapable of separating them as well. And based on recent comments, it appears that the Tennessee AD and president also do not recognize there is a difference.

No wonder Tennessee keeps getting caught breaking the rules.

Everyone here acts like their Schools aren’t used NIL to recruit players. Tennessee recruiting class is #13 for 2024. You think everyone above Tennessee isn’t using NIL???

using NIL when they get on campus is not the same as using NIL before they even get there.. surely TN fans aren’t this stupid..

This isn’t rocket science.

Is there any other collective other than Tennessee’s that was stupid enough to publicly state point blank that they were usint NIL funds to recruit players? That they had a “war chest” of money they were going to use for recruiting?

It seems insane that someone would admit guilt like they did. But they did.

Spyre Sports Attorney Tom Mars has said that Tennessee wasn’t involved with this trip.
Tom Mars is the man relative to NCAA issues. That man represented Houston Nutt in the defamation lawsuit against Ole Miss/Hugh Freeze. Mars also found Hugh’s Hooker phone calls and the “pattern of misconduct” that lead to Hugh’s termination for cause.

What makes you think that was the case? Just making stuff up as you go. I never heard that one.

Hilarious how they just gloss over this part of the story.

NIL is a loophole. All you have to do is not be fricking idiotic and you can buy players.

Unfortunately in this case UT and the collective were fricking idiotic.

So these kids are committing to schools before NIL deals are in place? You believe that?
