If Tenn’s AD is smart, they’ll self-impose a few scholarships and 2 years probation.

I don't think there will be a compromise this time. I can only hope this will backfire against the NCAA, and I confess it is wishful thinking. I am glad they're telling the NCAA to go frick themselves instead of rolling over. It's obvious they locked their scope on Tennessee for the hell of it. If the penalty is even as minor as sanctions against the program, I'll never watch college athletics again.

Ole Miss fans said the same exact thing. We sued and took them to court. The court said, rather quickly, “you agree to the rules they set in place by participating”.

We also said the same thing yet here we are.

Fair point.

Speaking of not watching things, I will not be watching the Super Bowl for the first time since I was a kid.

My care factor is definitely minimal. But my fiancé still wants to watch and we both really want someone other than the chiefs to win. Also, I’d love for CMC to get a ring after getting his shite pushed in at the Panthers and all the “white boy running back” bullshite he’s put up with since college.

I'm taking the wife out to dinner. She hates sports anyway, so she was elated to hear my plan.

Are you saying collectives can fly kids around for campus visits with the staff?

No shite. But if there's any involvement from the school or coordination, that's a violation.

There's no "rule" against me walking up to a recruit and giving them a million dollars for them to sign with Florida. But if I arranged a tour of the school or spoke work the AD prior to this then my school will get hammered.

This isn't that hard, even for a brain dead, whiskey soaked alter such as yourself.

That's the hilarious part. Everyone else seems to know how to play the game. Keep a buffer between the school and NIL and there isn't shite that NCAA can do.

UT fans should be more angry with their own ineptitude than with the NCAA.

Vols are a sad pathetic little fan base.

Can’t even cheat correctly and when you do you throw a tantrum like a little bitch.

Your school sucks, your fan base sucks and pretty soon we won’t have to deal with your delusions of grandeur.

The entire university could be shut down, razed to the ground, and the earth salted underneath it and the Vols would still be talking about how this is finally their year.

... under yet another Whisky alter.

What an individual, even the president of the NCAA, says really doesn't matter if you can actually look at what's in the rulebook and find a different answer.

The NCAA has one rule on NIL. It's right here in the bylaws:

"22.01.2 Offers and Inducements. Name, image and likeness activities may not be used as an inducement for an individual to enroll or remain enrolled at a specific institution."

No pay for play. That's the one rule for NIL. That's what the state of Tennessee is suing the NCAA to remove so there would be no rules.

Oddly enough….had the collective given the kid the jet as a form of payment and then he flys into Knoxville, it wouldn’t have been a violation.

We all know that there will be NIL packages available for players, but you simply can't combine NIL money with the recruitment process.

Spyre is trying to project a stance that their contractual agreement was neutral which everyone knows is a steaming pile of BS.

This is all compounded by Tennessee's recent track record of pay to play.

Whoever it was on the Tennessee staff that thought it was OK to go along with Spyre needs a swift kick or...

Dumb as a bag of hammers.

And what was the coordination, what was the involvement? I won't hold my breath on your answer.

Who was paid for play?

Explain.

lmao, here we go again. Round and round.

Just a friendly reminder that the NCAA already popped FSU for NIL-related violations. One of the punishments being a disassociation with the school's NIL collective.
