using NIL when they get on campus is not the same as using NIL before they even get there..
Kids, their parents, their agents and everyone associated with the top talented prospects already have their NIL deals in place before the kid ever signs with a school. This is evidenced by the flip flopping these recruits are doing, they are signing with the highest bidder. Its a glorified slave auction with high stakes getting into the millions.

Unfortunately in this case UT and the collective were fricking idiotic.

And to add insult to injury, they were recently sanctioned for doing other idiotic stuff.

A rational person might just thing that they should have known better and that they should have been on their very best behavior...

Nope... Not the Vols.

You don't understand.

This was Spyre, not UT.

You heard the NCAA President.

In some cases this is true, but there are plenty of situations where agents are leveraging to be able to wave offers in front of another collective to get a counter-offer from the collective at the school where the kid really wants to attend. But alas, if the other collective doesn't match or come close, the first offer is often winning out these days.

This is partly why Saban was not happy with the Learfield deal. Alabama set up Learfield as a contract service to run an on-campus opportunity center. A middle man situation on top of Alabama also requiring to review and approve all NIL deals. Saban found himself at a disadvantage in several situations because of a lack of control due to the slower process / red-tape involved.

Again, it's not about paying players to come to your school. Every single school is doing that.

But you have to do the bare minimum, which is plausible deniability and not doing dumb shite like UT/Spyre were doing.

Amateur hour. That's why the NCAA is up your arse. You didn't do the bare minimum.

This was Spyre, the NIL collective who flew him to Knoxville. NOT THE UNIVERSITY.

I'm not sure why you can't comprehend that little detail.

It's ALWAYS the NIL orgs but if you're dumb enough to leave breadcrumbs leading to your school don't be surprised when the NCAA comes digging in your trash.

Dunno why everyone thinks this is something. No chance Tennessee gets in any serious trouble with the current state of the NCAA. On top of that, by the time the NCAA finishes their investigation they will no longer govern the SEC anyway.

I suppose the players from the hood just pay cash for all of their flights huh?

There are times it’s legal and times it’s not . That’s what they call a dead period. Plus there are restrictions on the amount of recruiting trips schools can offer each cycle

No, you're an idiot. You want Tennessee to be in trouble so bad, your stupid arse denies the facts of what actually happened.

You want to get rid of your worthless coach so bad, you are hoping they sink UF too.

It would be hilarious if Tennessee skates free, and they nail Florida's arse to the cross. That way your low IQ arse gets your wish. Somebody got nailed.

The NCAA cannot have it both ways. They can't say "there are no NIL rules", and then go after the university when the NIL collective does something they don't like.

Once upon a time, Alabama almost got the death penalty for a booster paying a recruits coach. Not related to the school. Logan Young gave Albert Means’ coach $150k. Phillip Fulmer turned Alabama in. Fulmer avoided the SEC meetings in Birmingham one year to avoid a subpoena.

Logan Young was murdered. Many think by Alabama boosters. Alabama boosters remember this. And while it is believed the Young murder was isolated, the end goal of all Alabama boosters is to see the destruction of Tennessee.

it looks like YOU don't understand.

1) Tennessee is doing what everyone is doing. Now GUMP and UGA want to take Tennessee out because they're scared shltless. (people like you are their useful idiots).

2) Tennessee isn't going to let that happen. Fk with us? Fine. Hold us to a different standard than everyone else? Fine. But WE have the USSC on our side. If you want to play this game we'll bring the whole fking house down.

Satisfied?

Your call. Let me know what you decide.

Oh, they know it good and well. They want to go back to the days when only Alabama, OSU and Georgia can pay players. That's why they hate NIL, because now EVERYBODY gets paid.

THAT'S what this is all about.

And again, for the hearing impaired and those in the back, WE AREN'T GOING TO LET THAT HAPPEN.

Fk with us?

Tennessee isn’t doing a got damned thing other than what the NCAA tells them to do.

Otherwise, Tennessee’s best bet is to withdraw from the NCAA and start their own intercollegiate organization. The SEC can fill your spot with FSU or Clemson.

Going from “we did nothing wrong” to “everyone is doing it” is certainly interesting.

Woah somebody decided to put their big boy pants on

You don’t have the USSC in your side. This has nothing to do with “name, image, or likeness”. A recruit cannot use booster transportation to go visit campus.

THAT'S what this is all about.

No. What it’s all about is that Tennessee boosters are too stupid to follow what few rules still remain in recruiting.

Further proof just how stupid people from Knoxville are.
