And that was just two freshmen that were on the highlight reel. Don’t forget the running back (Harris); the left tackle (Leatherwood); the other two wide receivers (Rudd & Juedy)

True freshman Dylan Moses also had to start at LB for that game.

What I do not think that can be debated is the actual impact these freshmen made during the championship game.

No doubt. By january and after 13 games, they arent freshmen any longer (in the figurative sense)

It’s a high bar for JTD to reach.

For a 60% passer it’s impossible. Assuming Monken can even do the air raid without UGAs 3 best WRs. If Kirby goes back to what he knows and drops Daniels attempts to 20ish a game it might skew the data enough

The more efficient he was, the bigger the lead, the less he threw.

Aka skewing the stats with significantly less attempts and more low risk low reward passes. It took til his last year for him to win a game with 30ish attempts. Because he’s just not a very good QB. He was a very good game manager that really understood when to hand it right or left, but ask him to win a came doing QB1 things and he couldn’t.

He was there to hand it off. You do understand that the data in this instance is rather skewed by that right?

He was was actually 2rd in QBR and passed for more TD's (30) than any other SEC QB other than TUA.There's nothing more "skewed" than total passing yardage with little scoring production.

Of course. He was 60% at usc, but much higher at uga.

The high passer efficiency ratings prove they weren’t low reward passes.

He actually could do it, but was always a play short vs saban, which is understandable.

Tua got bama to the playoffs?

Tua 2017 stats - 636 yds, 11 TD's

Clearly wasn't just relaxing on the bench all year.

Tua aside, Najee, Juedy, Ruggs and Smith caught passes and TD's all year. Not sure why you'd try to minimize their contributions.

Lol

Bama got the playoffs because of tua?

You dont know when to quit.

12 players drafted (bama record) with 4 in the first round.

I never said that, but enjoy yourself.

Saban also stated in the CFP semi's that Tua was going to play if Jalen struggled like he did in the Iron Bowl.

Sounds like someone that wasn't just there solely for mop-up duty, as UGA eventually found out in the natty.

Freshmen didnt get you to the playoffs. 12 draft picks plus hurts did.

Just like Fromm didnt take us to the playoffs (chubb, michel, roquan).

What the frick do you think isnt mopup duty? Tua had 8 pass attempts in the first half of games in 2017. You are seriously stuck in denial.

Florida is not going to be a threat this year. Pretty much can sleep walk through the East.

Barely top 50 in sacks allowed, outside the top 50 in rushing O… given how they recruit, that’s not very good. And this year it’s a couple weeks til the biggest game in their regular season and they don’t have a starting 5 yet.

They have a talented group of individuals but they don’t have a line yet. With the expectations being that it will not be ready for Clemson.

I'll just say I am not worried about our OLine. If you are, then that is your prerogative.

The talent you guys have accumulated in the trenches is insane

This has been the underrated hallmark of Kirby's tenure. Richt was always great at recruiting the skill positions, but never so good in the trenches. I think we only got 1 or 2 five-star OL's in Richt's career at UGA, but Kirby did 3 or 4 in his first couple years. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I used to keep a spreadsheet before parenthood took much spare time away from me. It was a glaring weakness in Richt's recruiting that Kirby turned around. It was difference between Top 10 recruiting classes and Top 5.

:rotflmao:

you mean the guy that was the NFL DC, has been universally creditted as an amazing Defensive X&O guy, has 7 NCs and pretty much universally considered the GOAT is not good at X's & O's???

who the frick do you consider a great X&O guy then?

does being a good recruiter suddenly mean you are not an X&O guy?? Cant be both?

I mean I see so many people considering Mullen a great X&O guy....why cause he sucks at recruiting? Sure as frick aint winning cause he hasnt won shite.

9-3 coming for Georgia

Which 3 games exactly? We are highly favored in every game but 1 and that is 3.5 pt spread against Clemson.

Worst case scenario is 1 loss.
