Are we just ignoring the part about him asking if I was going to give him more than one season?
You guys are so sensitive when it comes to basketball. I like Oats. I think he’s a good coach and has the polar opposite personality of Bruce which could make for a fun rivalry. Some people ITT are losing their minds over the 6th best class in the conference and acting like the entire team was walk-ons last year. I know it’s crazy that I could have opinion other than Oats either being complete shite or the next Wooden

Oats seems like a solid recruiter. Exciting times for a brewing basketball rivalry whenever our boys allowed to lace them up.

Avery didn't leave the program in shambles. How many post season appearances did Bama have under Johnson ? AU had historically the worse BB Program in the SEC before Bruce. Its laughable trying to compare the two situations.

What Bruce inherited was bad, but it wasn't nearly as bad as what Oats got. I mean wtf are you supposed to do with 6 players ranked in the top 107 in their classes (7 in the top 148)?
Actually just looked it up. The highest ranked player left from Barbee was Taj Shamsid-Deen, who was a 5'9 PG that was the 250th ranked player in his class. Holy hell, I forgot just how awful Barbee was

I know one thing. Sweaty arse Bruce Pearl brought those Wah Eguls to TTown and got clubbed like baby seals.
Nate Oats has brought a nice class in and I think the naysayers will get a most unpleasant surprise this season..if there is one.

Most people are saying bama is maybe the most talented team in the conference and should easily be a contender to win it, but continue your Dabo impression

Lets not act like Bruce's 3rd team at Auburn that failed to make the NIT was completely devoid of talent. Had the 12th and 16th ranked classes and for the most part the core that fueled Auburns Final 4 run

Im seeing that in 2016 Auburn had 5 top 100 players plus Brown, Wiley, and McLemore

There were some good players but all but Mustapha were developmental guys who were forced to take bigger roles due to an empty cupboard. On that, Bruce is making me a little nervous going after a lot of these big recruits (like Jalen Green, Brown, and Kuminga). I’m much more a fan of going after guys in the 30-100 range who have NBA potential but are likely to stay a few years.
Let me reiterate again, I’m a fan of Oats. I think he’s a top 5 coach in the conference and I think this year’s bama team is gonna be a contender for the conference title.
