Nate Oats: If certain guys can't give us effort, then there may not be a spot for them

“To be honest with you, I thought the effort at Missouri was much better than the effort against Vanderbilt the game before -- for 30 minutes,” Oats said Monday on the SEC teleconference. “We just didn’t have the intestinal fortitude and the grit and the determination to keep doing it when the offense was playing as bad as it was. I mean, that was our worst offensive outing. I was encouraged for the first 30 minutes with our effort on defense. … We just kind of quit."

“... Moving forward, we need everybody in this program to understand what kind of effort you’ve got to get. And if there’s certain guys that just aren’t capable of giving us the effort we need to win games, then there may not be a spot for them. But we’re evaluating that. I think our guys know what they need to do. They’ve just got to prove that they can do it.”

Good.

He's said that he needs to change the culture of the program.

I think Oats will turn it around based on stuff like this. Avery would just sit there and talk about how much he loves the young men on the team, and how close they are.

Wow.... What a loser!

Step up and accept that you failed these players Nate - quit blaming your players! You were given a talented roster and ruined it!

Maybe if you didn’t coach players to run down and heave a three they would be better!

Proof that Bama needed to pay up and go after the best coach available. Nothing against Oats, but he is in over his head at Bama.

Seemed like he did better than most people expected.

STFU and go do whatever it is you do when you aren't hating on Alabama, which isn't often. You do you and Nate Oats will handle the basketball program. He hasn't even been there a season yet.

How does someone end up with a name like 'Oats'?

So blame the players. Where do I sign up to play for him? Those are things you say in private not to the media.

He finished 3-5 spots lower than he was predicted to finish in the SEC.

Bruce Pearl had his hands full with Oats this season.

Nate is about to show some players the door. He's going to get a few gymrats from NY and the midwest to replace them.

Avery’s first season: 18-15 (8-10)
Avery’s second season: 19-15 (10-8)
Avery’s third season: 20-16 (8-10)
Avery’s fourth season: 18-16 (8-10)

Oatmeal’s first season: 16-15 (8-10)

Also, Anthony Grant (the coach you all fired after an 18-14 season) has Dayton ranked #3 with a 29-2 record.

Not good..

For the life of me I can’t understand why any Alabama poster would come to this shithole and start a thread about Alabama with nutsacks like WillyT and IronsPuppets hanging around pleasuring themselves to the very thought of these kinds of threads being started.

You are right , he should take it to his safe place like Bamamag or Tiderinsider. That way he only gets positive comments, he should just say frick to truth. lol
