Napier takes a shot at gator fans

When coaches say this, all it tells me is that it's the coach who's online reading all the chatter from the fans and he's clapping back at them though the media.

Bad-mouthing rural central Florida will help speed the "execution" he talks about -- his from the program.

Few points:
1) "Rural Central Florida" definitely sounds like a dig at a group of people and that is going to cost him support. His comment points to a larger sentiment seen often at UF, where the snobs look down on people from Gainesville and the local area. Gainesville is in Alachua County, and it's not uncommon to hear UF people and others refer to ACR in a derogatory manner (ACR = Alachua County Resident). UF needs to purge this mindset from campus. It's a public university that thinks it's Stanford and that's not the case.

2) I'd be willing to bet that his contract has some language that the attorneys could attach to that comment and go after him for cause in termination. UF would never do that, but you can't just go after the fans when you suck.

3) Say goodbye to the "he's a great guy, I hate to see him fail" talk.

4) UF's rivals, seen each year or important no matter when you see them are in-state (Miami, FSU), LSU, Vols, Georgia. In those games, Napier is 1-8. Against ranked teams he is 2-11. He shouldn't be popping off at anyone about anything.

This is his dumbest move yet since being at UF.

Without that guy in his basement in Central Florida or the thousands upon thousands of others who spend hard earned money to “care”, you’d be just another faceless schlub somewhere probably rolling out the kickballs for your middle school P.E. class somewhere in rural Vermont.

No-one said you had to choose this for a career.
