Move Indiana into the SEC and see what happens. Cignetti had to win two games this games. Two. The rest were gimmes.
Indiana has been those gimme games for decades. That's what the big deal is.

OU or Bama will challenge them.
Nice words and I appreciate the compliment but we would get destroyed by this Indiana team. OU would too but less so.
Georgia matches up well with them though.

I was there as well. IU is damn good and they won that game by beating Ohio State not Ohio State beathing themselves. They are going to be a tough out.
Tight game. They just made the plays that had to be made barely more than OSU. Agreed 1 hundo, they will be a tough out for anyone.

The Indiana legend, Lee Corso.
He did so much with less at Indiana, he was the standard there until Cignetti.
Lee Corso with NIL money? He'd KILL it!

They've played an easy schedule and their 2 best wins were vs teams that didn't play difficult schedules either. None of those 3 teams have really been tested. They are good on paper.

So has Vandy. Hard to argue against Lea being even more impressive.

Exactly. He’s already 64 y/o. His wife is from Bloomington, IN. I don’t think he’s moving on to a bigger program. Maybe the NFL but I doubt that

Nick Saban certainly could not do it.
With equal talents, Mike Leach beat Saban

People said you couldn't win football at IU.

It's not really a 2 year coaching job seeing as he brought with him the entire team he assembled at JMU that went 11-1. It's really more like year 4

And, he has 20 5th year players on roster. I like watching them because they play good fundamental football but he didn't just put this together out of thin air. Repeat it for a couple of years and I'll the believe he is the football whisperer people make him out to be.
FWIW, Indiana was 9th in the B1G and 32nd overall in this recruiting class. Not horrendous but also not the foundation for numerous championship runs.

Right . . he seemed to have hit it out of the park with the portal.
Mendoza, Roman Hemby, Pat Coogan, Riley Noakowski, Kalil Benson, and Dean Boykin are all high performing starters that transferred in during the 2025 cycle. It is hard to repeat that.
He will have them in the Top 25 for some time but title runs like this seem unlikely.

Cig is an elite coach. Kind of a shame we only got him to the big stage in his 60s

Let’s wait and see. Just on roster talent plus results I’d think these are honorable mentions that could possibly be better. Spurrier 96 last team to ever win a natty without 50% blue chips. Vt in 99 had Micheal Vick but was a mostly 3 star team played for natty. Bobby p 2010 or 11. Insanely out talented in the sec west finished with 3 and 2 losses respectively(5 losses were a bowl and 4 top 5 teams), auburn 2010 had a blue chip ratio barely above 50 percent. I believe it’s the lowest to win a natty since bcs started. Oregon 2010 played for natty against barn with below 50% bc ratio almost won. Clem 2015 just like Oregon below the 50% played for natty almost won.

don't know how to put into words or even explain what Cignetti has done at Indiana.
It’s amazing at the very least. They are not the best team all time and the CFP should show that. But to coach up IU with two mega wins and zero STBs in 13 games overall is ridiculous from that platform.
Great job coach.

No gimmes, 13-0 in a major conference is impressive. Alabama had a “gimme” week 1 and look what happened

Curt Cignetti has just accomplished the greatest coaching job in modern college football history.
Meh.... what would IU be in football w/o the NIL pay for play?
LSU had a HC that talked like a hoarse chain smoker and yelled "we ain't done yet" like kid who's balls haven't dropped.... and HE brought together and coached the great season in college football.
