I can't wait to see how the removal of this state flag is going to improve the education system, get people off welfare and food stamps, and allow the oppressed to rise up and gain equality.

A fricking flag has had its boot on the throat of MS people far too long.

You’ll probably see some of my dumb arse family members waving it at African Americans in the 1960s Bc god forbid mee maw is gonna have to send their kid to a mixed race school.

That was 60 years ago. What about the black people that are against it?

Why are you putting an entire race in a box you need them to be in?

1) Civil War statue of a Southern General or whatever = fair game to take down or rename 2) Any other historical figure needs to be taken into context. This is where it gets tricky. But I think we can do #1 above without having to worry about #2 or at least let those lines for #2 be drawn.

And who decides what is fair game? Are books next?

Nobody is saying it will.

It should still be changed though.

I've not seen sound logic for it.

I will ask you what I have asked the others in threads like this that end up running in another direction.

What about the black people who don't want it changed?

Society? That's why discussion and seeing both sides is a good thing.

I'm trying to think of a good analogy but let's say that you have COVID19 (Traitor Statues) *AND* Diabetes (Other statues). Clearly you try and clear the hurdle of COVID19 first while continuing to work and manage your diabetes.

First... This whole logic is flawed. "Ole Glory" presided over slavery longer than the 4 years of CSA. By your logic for removing it, so should the American flag. Have you thought about the % of black people YOU are slapping in the face by placing them in some sort of group think box where there is no individuality? Kind of a racist tone. Here is some logic for you. The idea of the USA is that all men are created equal. That we will strive to become greater by following the laws within the constitution. The USA flag has seen many changes in this nation. It expanded it's hope to ALL CITIZENS of this nation. Stay with me here... cause here is the logic. This nation is made up of States. The STATES formed the union. EACH state has it's own story much like the USA Flag. For some, the flag of the state represents all of the changes that people have striven for. That includes the struggles won. That includes those that you try to place in a box as a race. Believe it or not, there are those of all races that do disagree with you and the are not racist. They do not support racism. They simply see things differently.

The American flag had slavery longer because the confederacy didn’t even last as long as a dual term presidency. They were also the ones who did something about it too.

Wtf are you talking about group think? It’s about being empathetic. If you can’t see why African Americans would be offended by a confederate flag I honestly wouldn’t be surprised based off your recent melts and affinity for the shitty gateway pundit.

The state of Mississippi’s heritage and history is far beyond a small fraction of time they were in the CSA.

Again, doesn’t really matter how you feel you fricking snow flake. Read the cornerstone speech. They make it pretty fricking clear.

Whether it stays the same, or changes, some will have issue and be upset. This is absolute.

Why fly that symbol in 2020? Why rest on "it's always been that way and no one can make us change"?

People can't complain about MS always being the butt of jokes and referred to "50th" state when they carry on doing the same as they always have. If you want everyone to call you ignorant and racist then by all means keep the flag, but don't try and play the victim when everyone calls you out on it.

Society as a whole? Society as in politicians? Society as in only registered voters?

And what about the books?

A) Name more than 5, other than that cuck candace owens.
B) Kinda a flawed logic/argument. There were probably some slaves that thought they should still be slaves and everything was good. There were probably women that believed they shouldn't vote and that everything was good.

In today's day and age where there's a large group (albeit minority) that believe that the Earth is flat, I don't put much stuck into the "Fringe".

its a flag. What does it have to do with the original argument of George Floyd?

Obtuse much?

The Floyd murder has cause an increased awareness in Police Brutality against minorities

Due to this increased awareness, other Areas of divisiveness, and racism are now the target of increased scrutiny

This increased scrutiny has caused many to take a closer look monuments named for confederates, outdated Flags, Military Bases named for treasonous traitorous cowardly loser a-hole confederates, and other vestiges of the jim crow Era in US History

So while the Flag might not have anything to do with the Floyd murder, you'd have to be awfully obtuse to ask the question you asked above and not be able to connect those dots yourself

It serious escapes you doesn't it.

I'm talking about you and your racist undertones of all black people have the exact same thoughts and believe everything the same. That's a racist under tone.

You are clearly saying all black people want the flag down.

There it is again. I bet Muhammad Ali Jr's comments really messed with your mind didn't it.

You mean while under the flag of the USA right?

Stop being putting people in a box that you demand they stay in and understand that not all black people even support BLM let alone the removal of statues and flags.

I gave the answer. Because for some it's much like the USA flag where it meant battles won.

Why rest on "it's always been that way and no one can make us change"?

I didn't rest it on that. I rested on the people that feel you are taking away their accomplishments. Their hard fought victories.

Jim Crow laws the Dems put in place are still going in MS? Slavery?

Those would be the ignorant ones. They lack the knowledge to understand and put all people of a race in a box.

Holy frick you’re an obtuse son of a bitch. Wtf does black lives matter have to do with being a decent person and not flying confederate bull shite. frick you for even hinting I support BLM the organization. Those aren’t mutually inclusive. Both anything confederate related and the trained Marxist of BLM can go frick themselves.
