This isnt because of the flag.

Not solely but if you ask any business advisor or chamber of commerce committee member, it is always a hurdle that they have to overcome in any business deal.

I think It’s been on the ballot.

They’re trying to strike while the iron is hot, but Mississippi is Mississippi.

I would argue that despite its bad reputation, Mississippi has some of the best race relations of any state in the country.

I’ve never lived there but my best friend moved to Madison.

I don’t think so.

Sorry rebs, that piece of shite is coming down.

Instead of all the violence and protests over long established entities, why not demand your state officials put it on the ballot and allow the voters in Mississippi to decide the fate of all things racists and prejudicial to any and all minorities. It's the Democratic way of doing business and would ease most of the tension on both sides of the argument. Now, both sides of the issues have dug their heels in deep and are prepared to fight to their last breath. Sound familiar? Yes, that's how wars get started. Put it on the ballot and let the people decide! In my honest opinion, I believe most everyone will be satisfied and accept the outcomes, whatever, they may be. Vote it out, Mississippians and it has to go!
Vote for it to stay the same and cut yourselves's off from any future industries locating in your state. Possibly, affecting many companies to take flight from Mississippi for fear of bad PR & declining revenues.

PUT IT ON THE BALLOT!

Yeah I think The biggest metropolitan area being extremely de facto segregated says something about the state

Madison is the rich white suburb of the biggest metropolitan area so naturally it is pretty racist.

Is it?

I don't recall hearing of many racial issues.

Is it really that segregated? It has the second highest % demo of AA’s out of the Hinds/Rankin/Madison tri-county area by a large margin and hinds is highest because that’s the county the city of Jackson is in.

I would say with all the stuff going on now, MS has been one of, if the not least impacted, and has been relatively harmonious.

Madison is like 93% white, I don't know of any city in Mississippi that is more "segregated" although I don't think its an intentional thing.

Lived in Mississippi a large portion of my life. Presently live in Alabama. It is my belief the people of the Mississippi have to make the call on this. Either through their chosen representative actions or a vote from the people of Mississippi. We outsiders have our thoughts, opinions and beliefs but ultimately that doesn't matter. It's up to Mississippi. People that know their history know however that the state of Mississippi has been singled out by the SEC and NCAA. Mr. Sankey should have checked the flag of the state where the SEC presently holds it's championship football game and it's history before making the statement that he made.

Its a knee jerk reaction because some people decided they needed something to be offended about.
