I would also argue Manziel is more well known by more people than most on this list.

There was a generation that definitely would have had him on here. Most modern fans won’t know him but he really had a hell of a football career

A lot of people don't know that Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man - The Fall Guy) changed his name from Harvey Lee Yeary when he went to Hollywood because he was a huge fan of Johnny Majors.

8. Herschel Walker
9. Bo Jackson
10. Steve spurrier

This has to be a troll list right? No Shaq? No Sir Charles?

I would recognize SOOOO many SEC athletes over these guys. Get better at making lists.

Peyton Manning is wayyy more well known than Tebow wtf.

Tebow stopped being relative right after he got out of Florida.

Yeah. I guess so… I’d say one doesn’t know shite about college(and specifically SEC) football if they don’t know who the SEC’s #2 all time rusher was. And he accomplished that in 3 years, not 4. But I’m biased.

Was Bear Bryant that big of a deal to the average American? I know how he is viewed in the Deep South but would a Middle Age woman in Delaware walking down the street have recognized him?

Would this same woman know a single player from LSU?

Johnny and Lee were actually very good friends, who at one point in their life spent a lot of time together.

They were guests at each other's homes and took trips together.

Fame is relative.

Archie is less famous now than either of his NFL kids. Hell even his grandson.

More people know who Hurts/Burrow/Tua are than know who Johnny Majors is, right now.

Wtf eber. Anyone who disagrees is brain dead. Two time super bowl winner holds numerous NFL records and is frequently on TV commercials amd makes splash appearances publicly wherever he goes yet you clowns claim a college system QB is more relevant. It's not even a contest.

And further more, Tebow was only relevant in college because of Urban and his offensive system and truck load of talent. No one would even recall Tebow's name had he played on 95 percent of college teams.

Peyton was destined to be a household name even if he had played for Vandy or UCF for that matter because he was that talented and that good. Tebow ain't even a real QB as far as I'm concerned and all of his NFL teammates shared my sentiments.
