The portal is so fricking gay. It's killing college athletics
No it’s not. You’re asking kids to commit 3-5 years at a place they’ve taken a handful of visits to. While on these trips they’re only seeing the sunshine in everyone involved in the program. Recruiting is such a farce and put on. It’s literally a glorified used car lot.
No person in their right mind should have a problem with a kid wanting to get out of a program he misjudged at 17 or 18 years old based on a visit or two. Coaches can flee in the middle of the night but you want to get upset over the portal?
Do you stay at jobs that make you unhappy ?? r possibly kill your career? Didn’t think so.

Not to mention kids are having to commit to schools now without even being able to visit.
It seems impossible to tell how great a university is from a virtual meeting.

Of course he's good. That's why he's leaving.
Well that, and Cuonzo is trying to play mind games with him. Ironic when you think about it.

Turnover machine. Drives to the rim with no vision, low percentage of finishing.

He's raw. Needs actual coaching.

If you've been paying attention and are a big Mizzou fan, this should be zero surprise. The guys at our Rivals site have been saying for over a year now that this was the last year for Pinson; they were honestly a little surprised when he came back this year. Pinson and Cuonzo are oil and water...it worked at times this year and it obviously didn't at times. I would have played him more against Oklahoma because you have zero bullets on the bench so you were playing 4 on 5 in the second half, but it is what it is.
As for not letting seniors come back, none were coming back anyway other than potentially Mitchell Smith, and this was his fifth year already. Tilmon has a kid and needs to get paid somewhere; Dru Smith is going to get paid somewhere to play next year and who knows on Mark Smith but he's likely ready to go also.
Next year will likely be rough unless they can get at least 2 and probably 3 impact transfers; Martin has had mixed results in that regard so we'll see. The freshman class he signed is deep but not likely to be ready to win SEC games this year so it could be rough sledding.
To say that Martin took over a dumpster fire of a program is an insult to dumpster fires everywhere; it was probably the worst P5 program over the last 3 years, and the guy has made 2/4 tournaments. It's earned him a couple more years. Who knows if he's the guy long term, but he's going to be the guy for a couple more years so it should be interesting to see how it plays out.

When Mizzou and Auburn played, Sharife Cooper drew a foul every time someone breathed on him. Meanwhile, Pinson couldn't buy a foul all season. Can't blame Pinson for trying to get some of that SEC ref favoritism if he does end up going to Auburn

He seems to like to play at BWA

Him and porters did nothing at Mizzou. Pinson is overrated trash.

Our roster will be Kim-Anderson-bad absent Cuonzo landing two or maybe even three high transfers/freshmen.
Kim technically recruited higher rated kids than Cuonzo.

Porters were injured so I don't know what you expected them to do.

Good. Maybe he can do for them what he did for us.
