I am currently out of hard alcohol (forgot to run to the store) or I'd offer you booze.

Maybe he works out great there. I can't see the future... if I could I'd have won the lotto a few times. But Gates resume at Cleveland State is just, well, pretty good. Not great. Not orgasmically wonderful. Pretty good.

I am not getting the next great head coach in college basketball vibes from his tenure so far. What he might be able to do is at least stop the downward trajectory. Maybe he can set the table for someone else to come along and elevate Missouri.

at least the state will get a new D1 school. Unlike Mizzou they actually care about sports.

That was our justification for Kim Anderson. That was our justification for Cuonzo Martin. The last 2 coaches have been supposed to "stabilize" the program and make the job more attractive for a next-level kind of guy. Now we're hoping this guy will "stabilize the program" so we can hire someone better in a few years.

Mizzou basketball is literally groundhog day.

"Mike Anderson left the cupboard bare!"
"Frank Haith crippled us with sanctions!"
"Kim Anderson cratered the program!"
"Cuonzo Martin couldn't recruit!"

There's always an excuse for why we fricking suck as program. We need a real leader to nut the frick up and extinguish this dumpster fire of a program.

If this is the best they could do we should've just kept Cuonzo and saved the 6 million buyout. Mizzou apparently cares more about a coach that teaches PC values than winning.

Xavier is hiring Sean Miller right out from under Rayberry Tanner in a game of leverage that even the most naive of ADs should have identified.

Missouri just took Dennis Gates off Rayberry's list - and yes he was a candidate for Ray after Miller.

Rayberry, SC 29208

Geez. The guy is 50-40 as a HC.

That's horrible. Thought Mizzou was supposed to raise the level of basketball in this conference when they joined.

Chris Mack would have been a good hire for Mizzou. A bit surprised you guys never gave him a look
