UNC and UVa....nobody else should be seriously considered.

.500 or worse record 80% of the time playing a SEC schedule....then
Horse shite, 90’s Nebraska would dog walk the 90’s sec. Hell spurrier ran the sec with an iron fist in the 90s and he couldn’t sniff tom o’s jock strap. Nebraska got pick of the litter from Texas Cali and former nd strongholds like Chicago. They also had unlimited walkons that they used to build Olines teams in the sec at the time couldnt dream of. They were also the dirtiest/most innovative program in the nineties. Tom O revolutionized strength and conditioning programs. I don’t know any of your other hot takes but I can confidently say this one of your dumbest ones.

What do you think about Miami in the SEC? Would you prefer FSU if you had to take one?
If those are the only options I would pick FSU. Miami can go back to the Big East or go back to being independent.
The SEC doesn’t need anymore top teams. Hell we have too many teams as it is.
If we are forced to expand I would want two Mid level teams with good TV markets. Tv viewership will go up when Bama, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, LSU and others roll into town to play each year.
Down side is how often will teams play each other. Might as well merge the big and SEC call it the new NCAA then come up with divisions to bring back rivalries like the NFL has.

I’m glad my hatred of Miami is shared. Their fans are smooth brained thug wannabes for the most part. They disappear the minute Miami is mediocre or bad.

Glad Miami is creating chaos about the Big10 and SEC supersized conferences.
College football is a lot cooler with more potentially good teams from all around the country.
Unless the Big10 and SEC expand to 35 teams each. And then make divisions like the old geographic conferences that were better than this current crap.

Ironic b/c I believe Miami used to be an Independent.

They will take LSU’s spot at the table. Good strategy on their part to just come out and ask to have it.

Nebraska played 4 ranked teams in 1994 with almost 3 weeks between those games. 3 in 95 with the same number of weeks against inferior by any standard opponents. Kansas State and Kansas were on that schedule as ranked opponents LOL 3 in 97 with almost 4 weeks between ranked opponents, again with Kansas State and perrinial power ATM. Tennessee had played 4 ranked teams that season, all ranked higher than Nebraska's 3, plus 4 against SEC teams with more NFL talent on the roster who weren't ranked than Nebraska faced all season. In 95 Florida had played 5 ranked opponents PLUS SEC programs with more NFL talent than Nebraska had faced all season. It ain't a hot take my friend, Nebraska was very good but they played ALMOST no one in the regular season in their entire history and had not been getting the shite pounded out of them for 3 months like SEC programs did then and now. This is also true of Texas, ATM, Oklahoma and Missouri - when you play 3 schools with a pulse in an 11 game season you have almost 3 weeks between them to heal up, when you play 7 SEC schools loaded with NFL talent over an 11 game schedule you have a week to heal up. It takes a toll, then and now. I understand Nebraska was once a powerhouse but that will happen when you play no one...you will rack up wins and stay healthy....

I agree there are too many teams already, but what do I know. This seems like the direction things are headed.

Independent suits me. They did it for years.

I'm referring to the recruiting.

Let them go to the Big 10
Not a good fit culturally and they don’t add much to the SEC that we don’t already get with Florida.
You can't be afraid of good schools entering your conference.

Miami was an independent long before they were in the Big East.

Miami is flexing. The timing of this article isn’t a coincidence. They’re #1 in the polls and they’re telling the SEC, Big 10, and streaming companies they’re open for business.
Posted on 10/22/26 at 1:57 pm to moneyg
There’s truth to the statement that a large percentage of Miami’s students are NY/NJ/PA residents. That is not really a cultural fit to the SEC
Posted on 10/22/26 at 1:58 pm to finchmeister08
Independent before that

95 Florida weny 8-0 in sec play, two closest games fsu(won by 11) and barn(also by 11). The next closest game was ole miss and they lost by three scores. Florida starters played the entire game once the whole season. Even the sec championship they won by 31 points. The sec was a shell of its bcs version in the 90s so spare me this uf was beat up. They walked into that natty fresher than most every team that’s played in a natty with a legend in sos heading them up. And they got beat like an fcs squad. Not even a Mike leach 100 plays air it out whoopin. A student body, dive, power, option clock constantly running whoopin. I’m 90 percent certain you didn’t start watching football til after the bcs tjere junior. Nebraska was head and shoulders better than the sec in the 90s. Hell I’m sure Peyton manning would tell you the same(they also got beat like an fcs team)

Miami to the B10 and FSU to the SEC. Sounds good to me.

I don't really know what Miami would bring to the SEC.
