But they never moved football off campus. It has never been on campus, fwiw.

No but it was 6 miles from campus in little Havana. It’s currently 25 miles away. That’s a huge difference in Miami traffic

For such a small fanbase, per capita, they might have the biggest sidewalk fan group in the game.

Also in the 80s the community backed Miami some of that was lost when the shine of winning wore off the rest was lost post move from OB

Did you ever try to drive to the Orange Bowl during it's hey day?

The place they play now is MUCH easier to get into and out of, it's safer, and the parking is much better.

I’m younger than 50 so no I couldn’t legally drive in the 80s. But yes it’s easier to go from coral to OB than hr

There are many, many Hurricane 'fans' who have never attended a Miami game. Or even been to Miami.

Miami really doesn’t support their teams whether college or pro unless they are
winning big time. Add the fact that a lot of
of the population isn’t native born and
has no interest in American football.

Exactly which is why I mention (may be in another thread): per capita, nobody but nobody has more sidewalk fans than Miami.

A good portion of the students are from NJ and NY. They could care less about college football.

All I know is at the Sugarbowl in 92, I saw many Miami fans and they were great annd they were everywhere. Obviously back then they had a national tshirt fan base. It has shrunk since then but the true core Miami fans are rabid.

Miami has held bad on every play. Refs called a hideous blindside on Louisville. Hideous.
