Remember when Bama fans claimed the laid back atmosphere that Deboer created was a good thing?
Not any Bama fans I know. Has been a concern since day one. I’ am all for his “style”, but discipline and being team must be above any money or outside influences these players bring inside the clubhouse.
Bama won’t wait long to pull plug on DeBoer if he doesn’t tighten up his program and coaching skill.

However you need to spin it. Players have done this stuff for years. You want players who don't want to come out of the game.
He's a little bitch who has a sense of entitlement and is a sore loser. No sportsmanship. Take the loss, you got beat by an unranked team. They had their number today. Learn and move on. Don't stomp around the field like a little baby, walk over and kick the ball, throw your mouthpiece and disrespect your team, your coach on national TV.

He needs to be removed from the team entirely.

This. Saban left DeBoer a bunch of entitled and disrespectful guys. Said guys were throwing helmets after Michigan loss and part of the reason he retired. DeBoer better get control of this situation, even if it costs him the playoffs. (Although Saban didn’t get control in his first year and it took his 2008 recruiting class and letting guys go after 2007 to get full control).
I'm not blaming Saban for last night but I do wonder how bad the discipline got in the last couple years. Penalties, especially stupid ones, went through the roof in 22 and 23. Saban talked on Gameday yesterday about his transition from an authoritarian to a "transformational leader." He claims it happened prior to the Ohio St game in 1998 but I call BS. He was hardcore as hell at LSU, Miami, and Bama until around 2018. You can be too extreme on either side and I do think he went a bit too wonky into the sports psychology stuff late in his career. A lot of crap got excused when convenient.

Unfortunately I think this is a reflection of the NIL more than DeBoer losing control. It's both, but now you've got players making money and thinking about themselves more than the team. Sending your substitute back to the sideline then losing your cool and causing a penalty would have you benched and running until you vomit at the next practice, but will coaches even do that anymore?
Totally agree. Do that in the NFL and you are stuck in your contract, potentially losing game checks for detrimental conduct. Yet the NCAA allows even more immature college kids to run from their problems every single year with no repercussions.

I have no idea what his true character is. Might be a momentary mental screw up in the emotions of the game or may be the tip of an iceberg of issues.

Should be benched until he can demonstrate he is a leader, starting with listening to your coaches.
Coaches that tolerate that will get exactly what they deserve.
Absolutely.

Um, he showed up your coach, and then you lost to Vandy.

That's just a dumb thing for you to say in general.
There are obvious maturity issues with the kid. Who knows if they can be coached out, either way it’s a bad look. The kid shouldn’t see the field for a few weeks.
Above all, the most concerning thing is seeing this kind of behavior from a captain.

Low character pile of crap. No respect for authority.
Life is gonna hit him hard one day, and it would not surprise me if he sees the inside of a jail cell with that attitude.

This is no respect for your coach. He would’ve never done this on a Saban led team.
Why would he respect DeBoer
Penix made him
This is why he wasn’t on Saban’s short list
He knew

Yeah, it's fun to troll Bama fans after your team lost to Vanderbilt, but that's not what I'm doing here;
This objectively is bad. Real bad. Deboer has a team captain (a supposed leader) not only lose his mind on the field at the end of the game, he openly disobeys the coaches- including Deboer himself- telling him to come out. In front of his entire team, coaches, NIL donors and boosters, and the rest of America watching on TV.
I guess Deboer didn't want to make the scene worse, but I'm a bit surprised he didn't call time, and go out there himself with the ultimatum "get off the field now or you're off the team".

was the most energy anyone on the team showed all game. That was neither the time nor place for that kind of behavior, but I’m glad he had some passion about losing.
bullshite. He could have given that QB a concussion. Then kicking the ball away. There is passion and then there is acting like a spoiled baby. I wouldn't want him in our team no matter how good he is. Bet he went in the locker room pointing his finger at someone else blaming them.

Malachi is doing too much for a guy who's a role player. DeBoer needs to sit him.

This substitution was about removing Moore from the field to try to minimize his total loss of composure.
But we have our on issues at Auburn.
QB and head coach seem at odds over critical calls and audibles.
I don’t think yelling at people does much, but show your lack of composure.
“I’m disappointed” probably goes further, and playing time.
Hard to demand NiL if you are not dressed out or on bench. Some guys need some pine time to get their mind right.
