in all honesty, as long as they don't give him a $12 million buyout, this seems like a wise and prudent move at the moment
if I am Ole Miss; I keep Luke & see what happens with the NCAA

he did pretty well this year, considering
I would probably even give him 2 years after sanctions even
no "splash" hire is coming to Oxford right now
I have always liked Ole Miss (who can hate a Rebel?)
I hope he does well; if he wins 6 or more games a year during your probation and compiles a decent enough roster for when sanctions end to jump to 8 or more wins; then y'all will have done well

Yep Luke isn't the head coach if Fitz didn't get injured in the Egg Bowl. I'm already getting ready for a new coach in 2020. If Luke wasn't an Ole Miss guy he doesn't get the job. The only way this makes any sense if the NCAA is about to hammer us.

I hope Ole Miss gives him a shot.
No HC worth his weight would want that job right now. Luke obviously loves Ole Miss and he would be the perfect fit to ride out the storm with.

Actually I'm pretty sure you guys saved Dan Mullen's career. He might have actually wanted to stay until you inured his star QB then he realized he had nothing behind him and they would suck after next season so he decided it was time to move up.

Smart move. Dream job for him no matter the circumstances, give him a room to sleep in, a cot and minimum wage and he'll still out-work any other coach they would've hired.
