My analysis as obvious biased LSU fan

LSU defense is maybe best in country with 1st team only allowing 97 total yards on 25 drives in the first 2 games, and either 0 or 3 points dependent on how you slice it. So allowing only 48 total yards per game and either 0 ppg or 1.5 ppg allowed by 1st team D.

LSU offense put up 640 yards game 1, 530 yards game 2, averaging 48 ppg. They haven no issue moving the ball down the field at all. Just struggled a lot 1st half last week with turnovers and converting inside 10 yardline of LT into TD's. Good news is Leavitt had 6 INTs his 1st year and 3 last year, so I think this is an anomaly.

Ole Miss offense is great with Chambliss although it looks to be slightly worse than last year. Putting up 420 yards on Charlotte who was 1-11 last year isn't good. They played great 2nd half vs Louisville, iffy 1st half.

Ole Miss defense appears to be below average. Letting up 320 yards on Charlotte, 1-11 last year, isn't good. Letting up 38 to Lou isn't good.

LSU has outgained their 2 opponents by a little under 900 yards in 2 games.

Ole Miss has outgained their 2 opponents by 120 yards in 2 games.

This is the glaring stat I see and makes me feel LSU will win.

I think LSU is clearly more talented than Ole Miss. Ole Miss benefits immsenly with getting home field for the game and having Chambliss who can execute well in big time although I was surprised he was only able to move the ball on Lou to the 35 end of game. Thought he'd push it better in final drive.

I think LSU can match what Louisville did, and I don't see any offense putting up more than 20 on this defense.

It's likely going to be a close game. Ole miss gets a couple of DB's back which they need badly. Our WR's have not been great.

When Ole Miss has the ball:

Strength on strength - really only one question, will LSU sack Chambliss at all this game (they did not last time) 0 sacks - Ole Miss wins. 1 sack - close game 2 or more sacks - LSU wins.

When LSU has the ball: Can LSU run at all between the tackles? If you see an early run for 5+ yards up the middle, LSU is winning this game. Ole Miss has a pretty good front 7, but LSU may not be able to take advantage of the weak secondary.

All that being said, coaching gives us the advantage, LSU wins something like 31-24.
