If we're being sensible here TAMU vs LSU matchups reminds of old Alabama vs LSU prior to Saban for both schools. It was one sided but LSU put that work in to make themselves a national powerhouse.

I feel like Aggies are trying to escape Texas shadow by clinging to LSU as a rival instead embracing this as an opportunity to prove to the world that they are big time football brokers.

I’m almost 100% positive aTm will fight like hell to prevent a yearly Texas matchup. And the sec may concede just to shut them up. It’s the only fight they have left.

LSU fans would rather play an instate round robin set of games for a season than play any real teams.

You literally canceled the series vs A&M early because you were tired of starting the season 0-1 yearly.

That wasn't the reason, but aggy has never been honest about that endeavor. In fact, the same reason why LSU cancelled the series in the 90s with aggy was the exact same reason aggy cited when UT wanted to re-boot the rivalry after aggy came to the SEC.

I'm surprised aggy even brings up the LSU series from the 90s, when the replacement we found, per the terms of the contract you also signed, was USL who beat you.

Y'all make this too easy.

I figure we will take Texas on Thanksgiving day in the Sabine River Classic.

No one else feels up to taking them on in a rivalry.

I would love this. No better way to celebrate Thanksgiving and football than watching the two premier football programs in Louisiana and Texas fight it out in Baton Rouge & Austin.

You might want to check LSU’s out of conference travel schedule against Bama’s over the last decade.

WTF gif

LSU ALWAYS schedules high profile OOC opponents. There have been some years where teams have cancelled on us forcing us to replace with lesser teams, but LSU has never been afraid to play the top tier teams.

You're basing this off of nothing factual any LSU fan has said.

We've said repeatedly, under any circumstances, that we will play any one, any place, any time.

To show how much you don't know what you're talking about, LSU fans actually get tired playing rent-a-wins against in-state schools that just don't measure up. We are also proponents of increasing the number of SEC games per season.

Guess you're wrong on all counts.

We don't have to give mizzou anything

We're LSU. They're Mizzou. They've been in the conference for 8 years. They are quite literally the lowest team on the totem poll in terms of "getting what they want".

2 1/2 feet. You had four tries and couldn't advance the football 2 1/2 feet.

They’ll learn when the SEC offices are grovelling at Texas’ feet because of all the money they bring in. They’ll quickly turn into the most important SEC team because of how much money they bring in, and as we all know it money is more than anything in this CFB world

From 1984-1995, Nebraska, OU, and Colorado were far superior on the field to Texas. Just like Alabama, LSU, Auburn from 2010-2020. But look how it turned out for the old Big 8.

Money>anything else, and Texas has the most of it

You have had a football team since 1891. And not one National Championship.

Think about that.

I would gladly give up the Egg Bowl in order to keep the Magnolia Bowl. I’m sure the MS schools stay together in any pod or division discussion but I personally put the LSU-OM game at the top of my list for games I don’t want to lose as an OM fan in any realignment discussions.

It’s sucks sometimes not having a rival, Bama is in the same boat, just different reasons.

Bama doesn’t have a rival because no ones resume is good enough for us to even consider them a rival.

LSU doesn’t have a rival because they are a baseball school, no one cares about their football program enough to hate them

Too contrived. Too obvious.

Man do I yearn for the days when the Flagship sailed the open SEC waters. That was some master level trolling. It was nuanced; it was intellectual; and it was tremendous. Surely a far cry from the swill of today's troll attempts that fall flat.
