Gotta be T&A. Is it ever anything else?

Recruiting violations are all but nonexistent now.

Maybe he left LSU before actually being fired.

Hopefully your governor will hold a press conference to let us know

I can't fathom women throwing themselves at Brian Kelly. No way money trumps that personality.

It would be funny if he just gathered up all his stuff and moved back into the HC office.

My governor wouldn't know anything about it, I live in Missouri.

In fairness, the Louisiana governor probably knows just as much about it.

Gawd how bad is their law school?

They really should have thought about that before they burned their whole state to the ground

It's all Napoleonic law there. And pork barrel politics reigns.

I’d think so, but Tennessee shorted Pruitt his buyout and Heupel still walked into that afterward. There will always be a skilled coach who jumps at the opportunity. Just, maybe not their first choice. Most of these guys have the mentality that they will never be fired anyway.

Well, at least the same people who are handling the firing so professionally are also handling the hiring of a new coach, so that's sure to go smooth

Huepel went there with White covering his arse.

Who is LSU's AD going to bring in?

If you are going to try to lower the buyout, you have to at least follow the procedure outlined in the contract.

Basically LSU is arguing Kelly was in breach of the contract because of some moral issue and that clause is pretty broad. Which is good for LSU.

But LSU had to follow a pretty strict procedure in order to fire him for cause. They were supposed to give formal notice to Kelly that he was being fired for cause and stating why. Then Kelly was supposed to have 7 days to respond. Instead they pretty publicly fired him without providing that formal notice or giving him a chance to respond. Not good for LSU.

Arguing the other side was in breach of the contract after you very publicly breached the contract yourself is not the best strategy.

Remember that Seinfeld where George quits his job then regrets it and just shows up and pretends nothing happened?

LSU is doing like the inverse of that.

Well, when you have the Governor of Louisiana going on television talking about their process for hiring a new coach, it's hard to make the argument that Kelly hadn't been fired. fricking clown show. They'll have to settle for Jimbo at this rate.

LSU are savvy businessmen who don't accept mediocrity. There are no dumpster fires to be seen here.

LSU needed to employ a crisis PR team from the very beginning of this mess... instead, they just made it a total clown show.
