I don't think that's the case with our current roster. Edwards-Helaire is the wildcard IMO. He sure looks like he can be an explosive back. Unproven though.

It really is weird going into a season not knowing what to expect at the running back position. Fingers crossed.

Rb by committee, no one will be a superstar but serviceable. I think we land Joiner out of Alabama. I see us as a pass first offense next year. We will be loaded at the receiver position. Remember the name Jonathan Giles.

You never know, Jeremy Hill was a surprise . If I remember correctly he was third string in his first season and by the third game he was starting. I believe someone will step up.

We need a 2017 "William's like" commitment from NB.

He has the talent

Brossette was never the same back after he injured his leg. If the OL plays well next season, he might be able to finish his career on a high note.

He's had at least 2 fumbles.

Like the others have mentioned, I believe you'll see a lot more spread offense with the lack of a RB we've been lucky to have. I'm looking forward to seeing Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but question his pass blocking abilities.

Plus another said he anticipates a pass 1st offense.

I know y'all like your 2 freshman QB's, but will they be ready for SEC play by next season?

Look for another grad transfer for a stopgap?

There's no chance it'll be a pass first offense, maybe pass on 1st down a bit

At some point you have to put trust in your evals, both those guys were big time gets last recruiting cycle, if they can't get either ready for next season, 1 off a redshirt, the other taking live snaps already, then it shows to me nothing has really changed in terms of development. Plenty of 2nd year QBs make impact in college football these days, we should be no different.

If it's Narcisse, it will be more run based because he's dual threat, if it's Brennan then scrap most of the run plays. They could play both guys to give different looks, who knows.

I think if they were desperate for a QB, they would have looked to JUCO. Unless a top guy becomes available (Extremely rare), I dont see us taking any grad transfer QBs other than for some depth. McMillian probably transfers before the spring which would leave us at 2 QBs unless we sign a QB this class.

Guice may actually come back I shite you not. I have no clue why, they are on some big recruits but expect a different offense next year with the departure of Canada

exactly, Brossette looked like a stud his freshman year in limited action, but has never been the same since the leg injury.

Dont let the sunshine pumpers fool you. 2018 will be the worst group of LSU RBs in a decade.

Now if Guice came back then its a different story but the cupboard is bare with talent.

It will be a long year.

He's been in the program for years. Sure, he's been stuck behind the major talent, but he's barely getting the ball in blowouts. He's never been higher than 3rd string. He wasn't a big-time talent our of high school either. O & Miles both didn't think enough of him to play him. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Research facts before you say dumb stuff:

Rushed for 2,321 yards and 31 touchdowns as a senior, 2,188 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior, 2,130 yards and 44 touchdowns as a sophomore, 1,551 yards and 29 touchdowns as a freshman

I mean, I'd call 2 1st round RBs pretty fricking major talent. Would you expect him to get carries over those 2?

We still give the ball to Guice/Williams even when we're up in many games. Coach "O never wants to get the "conservative" tag Miles so often got when we got up big in games. Brosette has gotten carries in some blowouts though.

Again, more a product of the talent in front of him, not that he cant play. Trayveon Williams is your 1st string back and would have been 4th or 5th string here the last 2 years. Darrel Williams really had his coming out party this year too, which was unfortunate for Brosette. Brosette's only problem has been a couple fumbles, when he's played, he's looked pretty dang solid.

This is just a flat out lie as someone above pointed out. He was Top 247 4-star and ran for a ridiculous amount of yardage out of high school.

From his bio excerpt:
quote:

Five-year varsity starter at running back for University High School ... Led team to state title as a senior in 2014 where he was named the Most Outstanding Player of the championship game ... Rushed for a state title game record 272 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries in 46-32 win over Parkview Baptist in championship game ... Team went 13-1 and lost in state title game as a junior ... In five years as a starter, helped his team post a combined record of 57-9 ... Holds the Louisiana state record for most rushing touchdowns in a four-year span with 141, which broke the previous record of 118 touchdowns held by former LSU running back Kenny Hilliard ...
Rushed for 2,321 yards and 31 touchdowns as a senior
2,188 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior
2,130 yards and 44 touchdowns as a sophomore
1,551 yards and 29 touchdowns as a freshman
1,024 yards and 22 touchdowns as an eighth grader playing on varsity
... Selected to play in the Under Armour All-American game and participated in Nike's The Opening camp for the nation's top recruits ... Named the recipient of the 2015 Warrick Dunn Award, the 2014 WBRZ Fan's Choice Award, 2014 All-State Outstanding Offensive Performer, and 2014 MaxPreps Medium Schools All-American

He's actually never been higher than 4th string. But that says more about the talent in front of him. LSU doesn't typically go 4 deep at RB. I'm sure he'll be given a chance to be #2 or 3 in a 3 RB rotation. Williams only had 52 carries last year as the #3 RB and he only had that many because Fournette was limited to 129 carries after having 300 the year before.
