LSU baws - what is the outlook for LSU at RB next year? Is there a NFL type running back behind Guice/Williams that most expect to step up? Any of the incoming freshman expected to do big things?

Feels like this is the first year in a 15 years where I really don't know anything about LSU at RB for the next year. However, I'm sure there are 2-3 NFL dudes waiting in the wings like always.

I think they have a back named Brousette who’s supposed to be their next big thing.

Flat out haven't got a top notch RB, I imagine it will be heavily by committee. Brosette has a lot of talent, but has had issues hanging onto the ball, he will be the senior.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire I think they get really creative with, he's an all-purpose back who can really kill you in the screen game or passes out in the flat. He's got some power too, he's like 5'8 210.

Curry the freshman should see a good bit of carries as well.

Guice will come back for his senior season, and all will be well.

Brossette is a senior. Clyde will get a little more time, I imagine. I'd expect to see a couple new guys for a rotation like we haven't seen in a few years.

No single player for other teams to game plan for.

Lil Fournette about to wreck shite.

Except for Bama...y’all will hold him to 32 yards

46 carries over 3 years. Clearly, they don't think much of him.

He played behind Guice, Fournette & Williams every year so far (Fournette 2 years, Guice and Williams all 3 years).

He's got talent, but has had some trouble holding onto the ball, he will get his chance next season. An increase in carries this year basically went to the jet sweep WRs, otherwise he would have seen an increase in number of carries with us losing Fournette from 2016.

Committee right now. Couple of potential signees in recruit class but I dont put a lot of stock in that until They show it on the field.

Brossette and Helaire currently on the roster and then I believe Curry coming in will be a big contributor.

Brossette and Guice were pretty close in recruiting rankings. Many people even thought Brossette would be the better RB.

Of course, those rankings mean nothing now.

From a risk standpoint it would be foolish for him to stay. But if he has goals he wants to accomplish he may decide to finish out. Many guys of first round status have stayed for senior years. Insurance policies can mitigate the financial risk.

Quality thread discussion.

Like the others have mentioned, I believe you'll see a lot more spread offense with the lack of a RB we've been lucky to have. I'm looking forward to seeing Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but question his pass blocking abilities.

We shall see.

Have an upvote, as well

This is the most questionable rb group I've seen at LSU since maybe 2009.

ETA: scratch that - 2009 was loaded. This unit is the biggest question mark it's been since the 90's. Not that worried about it though.

Scout had them both as 4 stars with 83 grades. ESPN300 had Guice at 96 and Brossette at 121.

ETA: Looking at other sites, you're right, not as close as I remembered.

I do remember some fans saying Brossette would be the better back.
