Give an 18 year old hundreds of thousands of dollars and their vehicle of choice is a dodge charger. It's no surprise they get swindled out of everything so frequently by advisors, the vast majority of athletes really are fricking braindead and incapable of thinking/doing things on their own. They do exactly as they're told and copy what everyone else does, no matter how dumb/unoriginal it is

Your problem is thinking “officials” means first responders instead of people from LSU trying to cover it up.
You do seem to have some strange obsession with making damn sure everyone believes its because he was drunk. It does seem to be the likely reason, but why are you so obsessed with pointing it out?

And that doesn't always take alcohol (or drugs) for some guys.
WTFK?

Guilty...but it was a power pole and not a tree.

I'll say this, unless they ran a urine and medtox on the scene, if he's in an out of consciousness, how in the world can they say with any degree of confidence that he wasn't impaired?

"Dodge Charger"
Never mind. It's LSU so no DUI and nothing to see here. Really.

Why do you assume he was intoxicated with no evidence to suggest he was? You think every kid who loses control of a vehicle is drunk?

No but my first instinct when anyone wrecks a car after midnight is something nefarious was going on.

Let he who has not wrapped a car around a tree at 2:45 AM and had to be cut out of it while unconscious throw the first stone.

In my college days, there were plenty of times I drove late at night completely sober.

Whatever official information you hear about this wreck, or ANY wreck involving LSU football players, is probably wrong

Update from his family
I will say that I had a stint of vasovagal syncope spells when I was a Junior in college where my blood pressure would drop and I would just hit the floor. Happened once in Anatomy class and once at a bar. Funny part is, I was wearing a heart monitor when I was at the bar because my doctors were trying to figure out what was going on...so I couldn't drink and was serving as the DD for my friends. I stumbled and fell, cutting my face open on a breathalyzer machine they had near the doors. The bouncers told them to get me out of there before they called the cops. My friends said, "We can't...he's our designated driver". Went straight to the ER. They never figured out what it was and that was around 35 years ago.
Long story short (too late) he could have something major...or it could be a one off thing that just happened to take place while he was driving. Regardless, I'm glad this young man isn't hurt worse than he was, and I hope he has a full recovery.

"Colin would like to thank the first responders, the incredible doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Health and the many Tiger Fans for their care and compassion," the statement reads. "Colin is resting and is stable while more tests and care are being administered. We are confident that Colin will make a full recovery from this terrible accident. Geaux Tigers!"

but officials said
who are the "officials"? Notice they didn't say officers. So i'm assuming it's LSU officials. But the local media doesn't actually investigate anything.

The first responders are obviously lying
First responders are not investigators. They just want to get the kid out of danger and stable. The toxicology report will be released and the answers forthcoming.
2:45 in the morning and underage are rarely a good sign, add in the fact he’s a football player and it’s not a great look.
Odds are he put his night on social media because being a dumbass is the only way kids know these days.
Nuss is back I’m assuming, so they likely cut this kid if he was drunk or high.

How many of these wrecks happen at 2:30 pm as oppose to 2:30 am..

They're not going to cut a kid who has never been in trouble before for a DUI. I'm sure he will be punished but I'd be shocked if a DUI would result in him being dismissed from the program.

Underage drunk or high with that kind of speed in a wreck at 245 in the morning. That’s 3 different strikes at one swing
