Who or what makes this the best team next year... I highly doubt they will be better offensively than Bama (or many others). I also don't think they'll be better than Bama on D either.
So why is LSU the best team in the country next year?
Worst... post... after... a... NC... win.
I think I'd rather read a flame post.

Cause JJ/JL are gone. Seriously I have no problem with LSU being #1 next year. We'll have our game with you so I don't care who is #1 as long as its not us. You get lazy at the top. Better to be #2 until the last game is played.

Boom.
The NC will still be decided by Bama v LSU.
No point in worrying about it now, tbh.

Hats off to all the take your teams sunglasses off for a minute Bama fans that responded to this piss poor of a tread. I don't think I need to add why LSU should be preseason #1, it will already be beat to death. I just gained a lot of respect for Bama fans that responded.

Thn call them out for trashing Bama but don't get upset over next yr because that same secondary minus Taylor will be back. They only lose Baker and hatched in the LB core. Their Dl is back and their entire oL is back. Ware, Ford and Hilliard are back. I am not conceding to them next yr it we will be the underdog in that game which may be the only game we are not favored in.

I'll start worrying about next year after the Saints win the Super Bowl.

And this is why Bama winning it is the worst thing for the next year

Bama will win the next 50 national titles, we get it

Do you know how many players Alabama loses on both sides of the ball to graduation/draft?
Do you know how many players LSU is getting back?
LSU might win by two touchdowns next season on Alabama.
I hate us sometimes

A gracious response from a gentleman. Congrats on your team's win.
Frankly, I think the the story line being cooked up with the sports media elites is the resurgent SC Trojans, look out Oregon, look out everyone. The are being positioned for #1 and LSU's schedule is easy enough in some spots that a bye week or even a big win over a weak opponent at the right moment could allow them to be jumped.
No matter what, it is going to be an anyone but an SEC team season.
I hate the Trojans, always have; always will. How do you cheer for a team named for a prophylactic?
Posted on 1/10/12 at 2:43 pm to BamaStepL
I'm perfectly fine w/ LSU being pre-season #1, they return their whole team basically. My problem is with the talking heads on ESPN today that didn't even put Alabama in their top 5 pre-season. give me a break.
Posted on 1/10/12 at 2:47 pm to RMFTide
Robert Smith put Texas at #4. That alone should invalidate anything he says from here on out.

Well as LSu learned, it's not where you start but where you end that matters.

You lose 5 starting seniors plus Hightower and Kirkpatrick, in all likelihood. That is like...most of your defense.

We don't lose anyone except the players that NEED to go and our schedule is favorable. Eight home games with Ark and A&M on the road. BTW LSU's offense will look NOTHING like this year's offense and the rankings I saw have ya'll behind USC, so WTF aren't you asking about USC?

NOT TRUE! It matters on both ends. In today's CFL loose one game and you are finished.
