Wow. You were doing good with the apology until "People in a chat room who think they know better than and care more about this program than Coach Miles is what seems to me to be the pinnacle of self serving, pompous and elitist behavior."
That's the classic, "I'm sorry for what ever it is you think I did-BUT-followed by spleen venting and swarmy clever sarcasm. Just say you're sorry for coming off as a prig and leave it at that.
You made a couple of good points but I think it really looks like Miles failed in the flexiblity arena, the being able to admit I'm wrong and in the good of the organization is paramount over the good of the one.
By the way a few of us on here have followed good and bad leaders and recognize the difference and a few of have led, sometimes well, sometimes badly.
At least Miles leadership ups and downs are not life or death issues.
Let's all have a Pabst and relax.

A gracious response from a gentleman. Congrats on your team's win.
Frankly, I think the the story line being cooked up with the sports media elites is the resurgent SC Trojans, look out Oregon, look out everyone. The are being positioned for #1 and LSU's schedule is easy enough in some spots that a bye week or even a big win over a weak opponent at the right moment could allow them to be jumped.
No matter what, it is going to be an anyone but an SEC team season.
I hate the Trojans, always have; always will. How do you cheer for a team named for a prophylactic?

Yeah, good point and I agree. I am not suprised that JJ stayed in, just very frustrated and angry that Les seemingly handles miscreants with kid gloves. I'll bet he's tougher on his kids-if so-why not with JJ? But your point is spot on.
re: I know it's hard but i want everyone's honest answer!

You want honest so here it is:
1. Don't believe JJ should have been allowed back on team. Not sure why charges lowered to misdemeanor but given the reaction of the fans, alumni, board, supporters that the loss of JJ was a season ender-who knows? JJ made a career of immature finger pointing and believed he was entitled to starting Qb. Once Lee established himself as a player and a winner (at lest 8 of LSU's 2011 wins he figured in prominently)he should have not been permanently benched for the two pics against Bama in November. Maybe for the rest of the game, I don't know, that was Miles call and Lee looked like a stalked deer and had taken a pretty good shot from one of Bama's LBs. But he should have finished out the season as starter with JJ as no more than a back up or in an occasional role situation. Miles showed an immature hot dog that he could do no wrong and in the process threw Lee under the bus. If Lee stayed in the Nov game maybe we would have had the one loss, miss out on the SEC championship and get a chance to sit back and get a rematch. I continue to think that there should not have been a rematch but it is what it is.
2.Drew Brees would have had a hard time last night with the offensive game plan he would have been working with. Changing QB may not have had any effect. I think the only chance was to have crossed up Nick and started Lee in hopes that Bama had built their defensive scheme around JJ and the option. Slim hope given the high level of play by the entire Bama defense and coaching staff, but still, a hope. Given JJ's play, I'd have pulled him out in the 2nd to coach him up and let him get his bearings. Lee could not have done much worse and maybe could have read the zone and zone overs and made a play or two to loosen up the Bama D.
3.I don't know how many plays the Tiger D was on the field, but it had to be nearly 60 or 70. Holding a team to 3 FG and a late TD seems like a pretty good effort, all the more so because the defensive scheme seemed anemic at best and showed little adjustment. They handled the run very well.
4. The bottom line, just one guy's opinion is that Sabin, when it counted most and on a national stage for the title, proved he and his staff were better coaches. Much is made of the job of the coach and his staff is to provide their players to be in position to see the game and make plays and succeed. Miles and his staff did not and handed their team's head to Sabin and the Tide on a platter.
PS-All you Auburn fans out there reveling in the Bama win-get F*%&#@! I know I have to eat some crap from Bama fans but their team has earned that for them. You all can shut up and not hold your heads up until you can figure out how to win the West again. :doublebird: :moon: :yack:

Yep the fear is obvious that LSU fans want the championship handed to them because for the first time ever they've made it through a reg season undefeated and a scared shitless that if they play Bama again Bama will ruin their dream season. You got to play and win the game to get the trophy. Bunch of little leaguers

No, LSU fans, players and coaches alike welcome a trip to New Orleans to earn the National Championship Trophy. There are those among LSU's fans who really believe that there are arguments to be made for a team other than Alabama to be in New Orleans.
And not just LSU fans...
Isn't this what all the drumbeat is about from the dissident media/pundit/bloggers about the possibility of a "boring" LSU/Alabama rematch; low score, been there-done that-seen that game, wink, wink, get it, low ratings. Voters arise and look at Oklahoma State for real (if they beat Oklahoma).
More along those lines... some will ask how fair is it for Alabama to sit home smugly watching TV while good teams with difficult schedules contend for their conference championships? Didn't Nick once say no conference champ-no BCS chance?
I don't pretend to know the voters' minds but they have been worked along these lines for a couple of weeks now. It will be the real coaches voting this week not assistant ADs. How do they really feel? They won't be able to see how Alabama performs this week unless they watch a week old tape of the Auburn game. And don't discount the power of ratings fears on the network and its ability to inflluence voters.
If Oklahoma State messes up Saturday then the point is moot. Don't think LSU fans or the Tigers fear the Crimson Tide. Such hubris from Alabama is unbecoming, misplaced and unjustified after having been beaten on your home field by LSU.
It seems more to me that the Tide faithful are whistling in the dark.:beatdeadhorse:

I am a Bama fan and I am really amused by all the whinning and moaning about the possiblility of a rematch. The BCS was designed to have the two top rated teams face each other in a National Championship. Not the two best teams. Not the teams from the best conferences. Not the teams that have played the toughest schedule or had the most impressive victories — or losses for that matter. Not the top-rated teams that have not already met in the regular season or won a conference championship. That's it period. I don't blame you guys for not wanting to play us again, you barely made it out of T-Town. Having said that, if we don't play you for the championship, I will support you against whoever you play. I have a lot of relatives who went to LSU, and the only time I'm against you, is when Bama plays you. But if we DO get another chance, put on your big girl panties and quit crying about it.
Be advised:
1. Though barely, the Tide did NOT make it out of their home field.
2. Oklahoma State, if they beat the Sooners, may benefit from some anti-Bama backlash which resists a guaranteed SEC National Champion. They will have played a conference championship(an opportunity which Alabama will not enjoy) and some voters will believe OSU has earned second place.
3. You fool yourself if you think that LSU does not welcome the opportunity to beat the Tide again and put an end to the never ending "Bama beat itself" argument referring to the 9-6 score.
In that looking glass world of reason and logic, Alabama has never lost a single game and has never been beaten, except to themselves and by themselves.
LSU's defense shoved you out of field goal range, beat on your offense and had plenty of gas left for several overtimes, while the Tide's players were gassed and beat up. You were beaten by a small margin in OT, but beaten nonetheless, and, by a better team.
So, put some clean panties on and get ready for the rematch, if you get the chance at it.:wah:
