Will that be a record low for this era in FBS? I think teams that were on probation had more post-SMU

No. Alabama started 2 consecutive seasons with fewer than 60 due to attrition and probation scholarship reductions.

LSU with the rare self-probation. Karma for all the unpunished cheating over the years.

We had 10 suspended for the michigan opening game in 2017. We were not deep at all that year

No, I think Bama got into the 50s during the early-mid 2000s sanctions. I want to say we played 2003 with 68 and 04 and 05 with around 56 and 2006 with around 68, 2007 with 74.

Why LSU Wants to Keep Football, Basketball NCAA Investigations Separate

quote:

So why does the athletic department want to keep the two investigations separate? The short answer is that combining the two cases for the panel to decide, if found guilty, would increase the ability for the NCAA to file "lack of institutional control" charges against the university.
