you are confusing confidence with not being scared

we are not confident we will win, quite the opposite

we just are not scared of you like everyone else is but UGA & i guess UT this year. Us and UGA have never really been scared of you and never will be.

I am confident that if we don't start with a 2-3 score deficit like we have in most games this year we can win or it will be a great game...my concern every year is Saban has 2 weeks to prepare for us with a bye week and bama, under Saban, always has the edge in coaching.

I was confident against Ole Miss but not confident this Saturday. I just want it to be a great game and hopefully we can get a W!

Here is my biggest concern for Saturday;

Alabama's offense is exceptionally good, but Will Anderson Jr has the ability to turn the game around completely on his own.

I hope we can pull it off but I am certainly not confident. Been burned way too many times.

I'm excited, not confident. After the Florida State game I was just hoping it wouldn't be a bloodbath like the 2020 and 2018 games. Certainly there's a better liklihood that Alabama wins by 14+ more than LSU doing so, but LSU certainly has a shot this year.

Its at home and LSU is ranked 10th. Why shouldn't LSU fans be excited?

Ha! I was at that game and remember seeing that guy. It was Halloween weekend against Ole Miss probably 20 years ago. Fun weekend!

Nothing in particular, but it's a game and crazier things have happened.

you all are filled with this over confidence

yeah no. Don't let a few trolls on a message board convince you that nothing more than a small minority are "filled with overconfidence."

Now, there are people who are more confident now than they were in September because LSU has shown itself to be a much better football team than we thought back then.

It's not so much confidence as it is exuberance that LSU has a legitimate chance. After the performance in Week 1, most of us were pretty down on the season while also trying to stay level-headed about it being a rebuilding year. Fast forward to the present, and now we have this sliver of hope to do something special in said rebuilding year. I for one will not be surprised by a win or blowout loss, not will I be upset by the latter. Just trying to enjoy the ride. The future looks bright.

Never cocky or arrogant in any game. I just believe in the ability of LSU to compete and win, no matter who it is. With BK at the helm however, and the system he’s putting together, it does make me feel a lot better, but it’s still very early in this process.

We were expecting a complete rebuild this season. Kelly has the team playing better than most hoped considering the team is fielding a lot of transfers and freshmen.

Don't confuse typical rant trash talk as confidence. Can LSU win? Sure, but from a roster and development standpoint LSU has a way to go before we feel confident LSU can match up.

That being said, last season with a lame duck coach and a worse roster LSU played Bama within 6 which was also the number of yards rushing Bama had that night.

Mistake not optomism for confidence in a given result. We know the history. It's also a 0-0 game when it starts, and we always have the talent to beat anyone. So why not enjoy the damn game!

Also, now we have a coach. So there's that. We just like to have fun around these parts. Try it some time.

It breaks down like this really.

Prior to the Florida game there wasn't an LSU fan out there that thought we had a shot of beating Bama this year. Our offense was mediocre with a QB who was too scared to make the big throws we needed to get the offense rolling. Then Florida happened, then we followed that up with a dismantling of Ole Miss. 2 weeks in a row of the offense actually clicking and looking very good.

All of this due to the QB finally figuring out he can make the anticipatory throws, throws into tight windows and actually trust his talented WR corps to make plays, even if the throws arent great, on time, etc..it really has been a game changer in terms of watching the offense. Daniels running ability has been there all year, but he just wasnt much of a threat through the air. Now he's one of the best running QBs in CFB with a passing game you HAVE to respect now. It's a different ball game.

Now, most LSU fans dont have much confidence we'll definitely win this game, but most certainly feel like it SHOULD be a good game now and with how the ball bounces could make it go our way as we all know CFB can be crazy sometimes. Bama has looked vulnerable (the UTs) on the road a couple times this season so that gives people a little more confidence with this at home vs. Tuscaloosa. The key for us is for the same offense to show up that has the past couple week and the defense to slow down Bama just enough.

I dont think anyone thinks this will be a low scoring game, we just have to be able to keep up and not score something like 17-28 points. It's definitely going to take at least 30 something, probably 40 something to win this game from our end. The question is can we do that.

Some are full blown cocky about it as if you guys are invincible at home. Is it the alcohol? Is it the Cajun audacity that nothing gets you down? What is it?

This is the kind of self-righteous bologna that gives a good number of Bama fans a bad rep. Why the hell shouldn’t we be excited about playing Alabama? Are we all just supposed to hang our heads in shame and hope y’all don’t beat us too badly? The sheer arrogance in this post is comical.

quote:

I’m always nervous when Bama plays at Tiger Stadium even with the current win streak because it seems LSU is always just an inch away from winning it. With Bama’s coordinators and with the way this team struggles on the road, imo that also goes in your favor.

Then, you go on to actually justify some confidence from our side. Are you always like this, or is this some kind of mid-week bender for you? Not everyone has to be an Alabama fan for Christ’s sake. We know they’re good. That’s why we want to knock them off.

Not confident but I will say this is probably one of the worst Alabama teams to come to Tiger Stadium in a long time. We expected this to be a rebuilding year and are pleasantly surprised where we are. Alabama has looked mediocre at best by their standards which is still a great team just not the world beaters that they usually are.

The home game is only a plus for LSU.

But Bama's weaknesses are why I think LSU beats them.

Seemingly bama is the better team. And this game means more to bama than playing the Vols.

Like most LSU fans, hoping for a good game that is entertaining. I believe LSU has more than a punchers chance for sure. But bama is deep and very talented.

Hopefully the weather does not make for a sloppy track and game. Those are not usually enjoyable to watch.
