The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference.
As an LSU fan, I remember fondly the Saban years. I wasn’t as “hurt” when he left for Miami because you can’t hate on a coach leaving for a truly better opportunity at a higher level. It did sting when he went to Alabama. Not because I hated Alabama, but because I knew he would transform them like he did LSU and he wouldn’t be doing that at LSU anymore. Most sensible LSU fans respect Saban and knew what he was. He was going to be a winner wherever he went and that resonated greatly with the people here.
LSU fans loved Saban. I think him going to Alabama did so much good for the sport as a whole. Sometimes good ole fashioned hate is a good thing. It’s closer to love than people realize.

Because 20 is the only number LSU officially retired. Number 9 should one-day be retired also. There is a high threshold of achievements that have to be met.

For years all across Texas…the Utran fanbase has been known as the rabid weasels. Until LSU came along, no other fanbase was ever quicker to turn on its own team, coaches or players than UTrans. But LSU easily takes the title. Biggest bunch of quitters, backstabbers and losers in CFB. Team and players quit mid seasons, fanbase attacks current coaches, former coaches, , AD’s, players…lol..they vacated their own stadium at halftime vs A&M.

I mean it is not like the school retired the damn number for him....so he does not seem to be anything but selfish in this case. I would get if LSU retired the number you could be mad, but they did not.......
