Comparing Kiffin to Saban. There is an interesting train of thought. One is a disciplined, program builder. The other is a skirt chaser that was fired from the only job he ever coveted.

I'm comparing how the fanbases feel.
Kiffin brought Ole Miss to new heights in the modern era. Saban did that for LSU.
Both left and ended up at a Division foe. Both fanbases know they will succeed at said Division foe and it makes the situation much worse.

How will Kiffin "succeed" at LSU? I'm curious as to what you define as success. Most LSU fans I know say he has to win a championship or he's trash.

You are not alone. Many LSU fans prefer to live in the fantasy world they construct in their mind instead of reality.
No logical person who has been here for more than a few years believes you when you say LSU fans were happy for Nick Saban. They have seen what LSU fans have posted. Many know Mike the Tiger lit the fire in the incident - an LSU sanctioned pep rally- that I linked. They have seen and heard the Matt Moscona and Tbob Hebert rants. They saw the wild celebration when Saban announced his retirement.
You don’t like reality, so when confronted with it you act like a toddler who is told no and pitch a tantrum.

Most A&M fans don't think a coach is terrible if he cannot win a Championship. That isn't easy to do. A coach should win consistently and put the team in position to compete for one.

Give me an example of what was toxic? He won a NATTY at FSU, and ya'll cut him loose after a very short time.

Yes, and he created an instant rivalry that didn't really ever exist at the same level the moment he returned to the SEC and chose Bama. The Ole Miss v. Lsu drama over Kiffin is not yet in the same stratosphere of the LSU v Bama drama over Saban. And, it likely never will be. Saban is retired, and the hate still resonates from many LSU posters.

I think everyone here but you knows who poisoned the Toomer’s oaks. Harvey Updyke, Jr.. He passed away in Marrero, LA in 2020. Most of his surviving family still reside in Louisiana and east Texas.
We know that an LSU fan didn’t do it because the trees actually died.

As they should. No kid gets to make a school never use their number again. Retired numbers are for the sacred. Period point blank. And Daniels is a good QB… don’t get me wrong but a good player doesn’t get their numbers retired.
And his offhand racism claim is garbage. Yes Burrows number hasn’t been used and isn’t retired but it likely will be at some point. Daniels ran a good offense that still managed to lose 3 games. Burrow ran possibly the best offense in college football history. They are not the same.
If he wants to pull this garbage then good frick him.
It’s like if tank bigsby came at Auburn demanding we never allow anyone to wear #4 again, I’d tell him that I love him. I love what he did for Auburn. I love what he put his body through for MY enjoyment, but if he thinks he can dictate that, off is the general direction he can frick.
