They say: It's not safe for fans and players!
Reality: When game time rolls around, there's a 20% chance of rain and the storm will be up in South Carolina
Actual reality: Neither you or anyone knows exactly where this thing will be 48 hours from now.
UF had its opportunity to move it to another city where they're comfortable be it Tampa, Atlanta, or wherever, but chose to gamble instead. It could pay off, and the game stays in Gainsville with a later start time, or it could backfire and we're left either scrambling at the last second or canceling it.

Reality: Florida wants the game cancelled to avoid a loss.

There is no doubt that Florida is hoping this game gets canceled

Absolutely

Admit it. After a short numbers crunch, your Coach believes he'd be better off getting this game canceled rather than try to win the East with 2 losses.

New Orleans and the whole state of Louisiana did not know how to handle a hurricane. Florida does.
You can't keep alligators from eating 3 year olds, and you're going to tell us about handling hurricanes?

You do realize that the team and the fans typically arrive the day BEFORE the game, right?

Reality: Gainesville is outside of the cone of the storm.
You do realize that hurricanes can change paths, right? And you get the point that Gainesville isn't that far outside of the currently predicted path, right?

Sure they do, but why let the potential of losing power or ending up with impassable roads get in the way.

I'm really going to enjoy watching the game in the A/C Saturday and generally just having power to my house.
