not against legislation being slow but I am for our elected officials having to state their position

When the vote is taken on cloture-ending the filibuster-you know how people are voting.
Just imagine the damage Democrats can do with no filibuster. They’ll only need 50+1 to give statehood to DC and Puerto Rico, and pack SCOTUS.
That’s too high a price to pay.
The shutdown will end-they always do. The GOP is winning on this.

Republicans will cave, the public blames the GOP for the shutdown.

No they don’t. The GOP has actually gone up by 2 points, and the Dems are still in the hole.
Even if they hold onto NJ and win in VA, it’s not going to be big numbers, and a midterm Blue Wave looks unlikely. There’s no widespread outrage about this shutdown.

This is such a loser mentality. Dems wont hesitate to do it

Say hello to the four Democrats senators from DC and Puerto Rico.
Say hello to the 6 new SCOTUS justices-Warren, AOC, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Eric Swalwell, and Merrick Garland.

ETA the shutdown is not hurting the GOP. The Dems are counting on the GOP panicking once SNAP ends. Dem Base-public service union is already whining about Dem inaction.
The GOP needs to hold fast.

The filibuster is bad for this country. I have no problem with 60 votes for certain types of bills but I just can’t abide by the ability for a minority party to stall the actual voting on bills.

Everybody needs to go back and read the Federalist Papers. The Senate is supposed to be slow. It keeps maniacs like Sanders and Schumer from ramming things down our throats.

I don't know a single person IRL who gives a shite.

You’ll care when you’re welcoming DC and Puerto Rico as states.

What about the sister-wives?

They beat them last night.
Yeah, but as long as they’re still in love with the Trans and Hamas, they’ve got their own problems.

Mike Johnson was a traitor yesterday

Today - above reproach.

The worst element of MAGA in a nutshell - complete, self-deluded dishonesty.

Gee, who could’ve seen this coming?

Bill Clinton looks as fricking lost as Joe

Saw him at Clinton’s funeral holding the programme.
He’s got a bad tremor.
It’s time to release the Hur Report.
ETA Hur Tapes.
Gee, who didn’t see that coming.
What a group of absolute slugs.
That Bernie Bro really did a number on Scalise.
I didn’t realize how bad that limp is.
That and cancer. They guy’s been through a lot.

How does he get to Delaware tomorrow?

Cozy Coupe I
Pot Belly has great sandwiches, and there are several near the Mall. If you’re interested in museums, you need to be sure and check the websites, because some are closed on Mondays.
The metro is a good way to get around, just study up on how to use it before you purchase your ticket/pass.
Oh, and if you have a chance, Arlington National Cemetery is incredible, but it’s going to be cold. Be sure to layer.
I wonder what he prescribes for children baked in an oven at 400* for one hour?

He managed to convince people he was a great guy, but reports say he was a a$$ to many people, including his secretary in the White House he wouldn’t even say hello to. He actively meddled in US foreign policy post presidency in ways that would be considered treasonous. He observed elections and called Venezuela’s election fair accurate, when all reports were to the contrary. He was a friend to dictators and terrorists. He was not a good guy.

You read the NRO Klein article too?

He and his wife just assumed that if you voted for Reagan you were racist. Their arrogance knew no bounds.
I laugh when I read that Carter was a great guy.
He wasn’t.
He was a petty, vindictive nag, who was a humble man only in his own mind’s legend making.
I lived through Carter.
Post-presidency, he should have been charged with treason.
Shouldn’t you be shooting up a trailer park somewhere?
