I loved Pelini's defenses during his time at LSU and I can't wait to see it again. Especially now that we have an offense with a pulse.

I’ll answer this question with a thoughtful and intelligent response, as I usually do.

I love Aranda and am thankful for his time. He was a mastermind and strictly business. I expect him to win a lot of games as a head coach.

With that said, I prefer a 4-3 defense, which Bo has brought back. I think the defense will play loose and have more fire/nastiness than the last few years.

Aranda's D was more chess-like. Match it up and make adjustments to counter and shut down the opposing offense as the drive and game progress.

Pelini's D is much more aggressive and attacks the offense.

I really liked what Aranda did here. But I think Pelini's D will be more entertaining (whether that's good or bad . . . we'll just have to see how it plays out).

Hows things back on offense? Know you lost a lot and your magic OC. is the team still running what they did last year or is that changing?

I saw slinger in the last practice video LSU posted. What happened? Where did he go?

Never mind. I just realized you were talking about LSU's PGC that left for the NFL. Tigers upgraded from a two year assistant to an assistant NFL coach to a 13 yr highly successful NFL OC as PGC. He's actually added some new concepts and plays onto the existing playbook. Tigers "O" will be just fine in '20 and beyond.

Aranda was a very key reason that O had some early success and was able to get established. I didn’t want to see him go, but Pelini has been, and can be successful at LSU. Hopefully he will.

Defense and Offense should be complimentary. The defense under Miles is not the defense needed under Coach O.

LSU should, and will - I think - embrace a high risk, high reward style on both sides of the ball. And I think it will be a joy to watch. LSU has the talent to do it. And I think they'll love to watch it. Me too.

If you really dive into it, Pelini was great at Nebraska (as good as Nebraska can be in this era). Almost beat a national title Longhorns team purely on defense in the BTCG. 9 and 10 win seasons every year for 7 years. He struggled with recruiting and offense, and he won't need to to deal with those things in this new role.

Big 12 / longhorn refs completely hosed Nebraska in that game. Even the diehard longhorn I watched it with agreed.

Bo is more aggressive which is what O wants

Dave is the best I’ve ever seen at LSU in terms of in game abd halftime adjustments, right up there with boom/Saban.

Personally, I'd go with Bo.

Somewhat similar to Kirby or Jeremy question. Kirby was not quite as aggressive and tended to play to keep things in front and not give up the big one. Jeremy blitzed more and is more aggressive in getting to the quarterback. I'd rather us die with our boots on and put the QB on his arse.

Either Aranda or Bo are solid. I'd prefer Pelini because he's coming after you.
This is a solid take.

LSU gets obscene skill talent on both sides of the ball.

Aranda is a more cerebral guy, probably a lot like Saban- he schemes and plays chess. If the players do what he wants them to do and are where they are supposed to be, he will beat you. He could take a bunch of scrubs, and if they execute he will force the opponent to play mistake-free to move consistently.
He could probably go to the NFL and develop a very strong and consistent defense.

Pelini is more aggressive and will attempt to force the bad play, instead of making the opponent play flawlessly. With the right talent, the type LSU can get, this becomes more of a big play defense, a chance to showcase talent. Might give up a 20 yd play, then get a couple sacks and a pick in the same series.

I think Pelini is going to leave his DBs on islands more.

Win-wise, you may have a point but you know they hated Bo on a personal level.

Both were great for us, but bo had consistent top 5 defenses, and his attacking aggressive style is more suit for this this high octane offense as it gets more turnovers etc. You give LSU 2 or 3 extra possessions a game and you are toast. (Just ask Bama and Clemson
