re: Reports state that LSU has agreed with G/F Saliou Niang!

Virtus Bologna still hasn't finished their season, so that could be the reason neither side are putting out a firm press release. They have a game this coming Sunday, and another on the 10th.

NIL public info is all smoke and mirrors, so take any of these numbers with a grain of salt. Including the $7 million deal.
You can bold and outline that statement. Very true. But even if incorrect, I think this helps us. Start turning the eyes of prospects and agents towards LSU, and get the popular opinion slanted towards LSU Basketball being open for business.

most teams have 12-13 guys who could play in a game and give you decent minutes in any given night still
I think the data would suggest otherwise. Just scanning the March Madness box scores - games within 10 points - teams played 8 or 9 guys. The blowouts had 12 guys playing, but that's scrap minutes with games in hand.

So considering we only have 1 player on the roster at the moment, best case scenario we get all 6 of these guys + Graves + McNeil; that still only makes 9 on the roster
I'd have to fact check it, but I am not sure WW has ever played more than 8 in a conference rotation (aside from injuries, etc). It's just not realistic, and I don't think it matters competitively anymore.
Also, I think news will be breaking soon. We have 2 players now

Idk how serious the Diang smoke is, but that would be an enormous pickup.

So, how does this work exactly? They are making professional money in Europe but can come over to the states and play college ball?
Get paid there. Get paid here. There’s no more amateur athletics.

If McNeil comes here then some other players fell through bc Wade doesn’t like the lack of defense.
Wade may not be crazy about his defense, but someone on roster is going to have to score. I love some of the names thrown around (including Dioubate and Bagayoko) because of their defensive versatility, but their scoring contribution comes from high screen/roll or offensive put-backs. Someone has gotta be able to shoot the ball from outside.

That's what I meant, sorry if unclear. Bediako signed a 2 way deal so they ruled him ineligible. Luis also signed a 2 way deal
Definitely, and I'm sure that has to help Wade's cause here (legal precedent)

The problem is he signed a 2 way NBA contract. That’s still considered a deal breaker with the NCAA. It’s what made Bediako different at Alabama.
Bediako's initial Spurs' contract after going undrafted was a two-way deal.

Hadn’t lost a game yet, dick.

What is the full story on the (potential?) rule change giving kids a 5th year that otherwise wouldn't qualify? Is there potential in adding a player, or multiple players, through that avenue? I'm thinking of guys like Mackinnon specifically,

What does it mean???
Can't say for sure, but since that tweet Lane got a big commitment, baseball announced some season ending injuries, and Dioubate committed from the portal.
I would assume basketball will announce a couple more between now and the end of the week, also. Typically when these things start flowing, they remain steady.

“Muh Jalen Reece”…shut the frick up are we out here acting like Reece is irreplaceable? And there’s nothing about Wade’s coaching career that should given anyone pause about his ability go assemble talent.
This is where I am at also. I would have liked to keep Reece, but in the end I'm confident his loss won't affect the W/L record next year or the overall shape of the program.
Wade is going to have a contending roster, because he always has a contending roster. History tends to be the best predictor of the future.

You make him say no.
How do you know that they didn't? You think they would theoretically do all of this in public? Not that there would be an even remote possibility that he would answer the phone call because there are multiple significantly better job openings in college basketball right now.
I mean, this is a first ballot hall of fame level terrible arse post.

Gotta imagine Hamilton and Chambers will follow Wade.

he's going to get paid more this year than he would if he went to the draft. Now in the long run...
Yes. It's all about getting to the second NFL contract, getting closer to fully vested NFL retirement, etc. Seems short-sighted.
I think he will end up back at Ole Miss in the fall, but I'm also confused as to why. Had an article on my feed this morning about the battle between Simpson and Nuss for the second QB taken. Seems like Chambliss is missing an opportunity at being a first rounder.
I am the furthest thing from a QB-talent evaluator though, so I'm sure I am missing something obvious.
