If Blake Baker's past performances against mobile QBs is any indication, then OM blows the doors off of LSU.
I hope LSU's defense is indeed way better than it has been under Baker. Even if it is, it's still not a guarantee to beat OM. Great QBs who don't make mistakes are hard to defend.

P Will has doubled Pyburns numbers he had last year in 2 games. Dottery and Whit in the middle may be the best ILB duo in the country

Never said Benefield was a CB. I did assume Haulcy was a CB based on his coverage stats, but I would stand by my point that Haulcy > Benefield and Delane > Pickett based on the data so far.

Dottery had a PFF of 95.1 last week, best LB grade in the country. Having him playing next to Weeks in the middle is game changing, you got the SEC's 2 leading tacklers from last year both in the middle of your defense.
As was mentioned, Princewell has 5 sacks through 2 games. The SEC record is 12 for a full season.
Our defense will come ready to play for sure. Chambliss will probably make some huge plays either throwing or running, but hard to see OM putting up more than 21 or so

You read my OP? I think personnel matters way more than coaching in today’s game.
Yeah, Kiffin’s system brings the best out of players, but we have a coach from his tree running the same system so it’s not like we are going ground and pound. And we have the best QB/RB/WR1 combo in at least 20 years for our program.
Over time, Kiffin may be the most important part of an offense because he stays and players rotate through. But for 1 game, I’d rather have JD Baker and Winston Watkins than Kiffin and Johntay Cook

Benefield will be a Top 30 pick in the NFL draft….Haulcy, while a very good player, was not close.
The reason Benefield’s stats haven’t popped is because the front 7 is elite…but he is an absolute ERASER at his position

LSU D is upgraded from last year pretty severely. They are running around at 1.5 speed tearing heads off midgets.

LSU 1st string Defense has let up 96 total yards throughout 2 games combined and 0 points (or 3 if you count turnover inside LSU's 30 that the D actually pushed back Clemson after it, for a GF).

If either of the two teams is blowing the other out, it's LSU. Ole Miss defense is not good. And I don't see any offense putting up more than 17 to 20 on this defense.
LSU 1st string defense has allowed 96 total yards and 0 points through 2 games. Not even a length of a football field on around 25 drives. Averaging about 3 to 4 yards per drive. FWIW, La Tech won 80 to 6 vs Northwestern St (who is terrible), but still 80 points is a metric ton. To hold that to negative total yardage at half, then 26 yards by time 2's and 3's came in is good regardless if they're playing a high school. Chambliss and Ole Miss are obviously going to be better than Clemson or LT offense, that's why I'm spotting 17 to 20 and not 0 like the other 2 had on 1st string D.
It's very, very early to say, but this defense may be better than 2011 just without Honey Badger making a D/ST touchdown every other game.
My biggest concern is that Leavitt doesn't turn into a headcase, and the OL play like they did vs Clemson.
LSU offense is good at moving the ball down the field. 640 yards then 530 yards last week. Just had bad turnovers and redzone converting last week.
Final Prediction: LSU 31 Ole Miss 20

I was following you all the way to here. Dottery has been outstanding. I heard a lot of chatter from OM this offseason about how the guy wasn’t any good. He is VERY GOOD
