My opinion of the LSU defense is clouded a bit given what Georgia Sothern's defense did to Clemson. Not much different than proclaiming Georgia's offense as "all world" because of what we have done to the 2 teams we played. Clemson is really, really bad. They managed one TD against Georgia Southern.

LSU is better on D. No question. The pass rush is relentless when it was adequate last year. LB is much better. Secondary is only a little better but still very good and and will improve week to week.
Coaching is going to be the biggest difference. Kiffin/Weiss know Golding and how to exploit that D. If the Oline can run block and Leavitt can avoid turnovers is really the only question.
I expect a 31-20 LSU win.

LSU Defense is night and Day better than last year, at least across the front 7.
You can argue that last years back field is as good or better.
This year they seem to be flying to the ball SO much better. The on field communication has looked great and Weeks and Dottery in the middle are a problem for opposing O's.
The biggest difference maker between LSU D and OM's O is coaching. Particularly, I believe that LSU coaching staff knows and understands what OM's offense is capable of, and what they will try to do. I believe with Kiffin and Weis giving Baker some tips about OM, Baker will have a rock solid plan to shut them down.
Chambliss and Lacey are good players. They will make some plays, I just believe that the coaching staff will have the defense ready to limit this.

Lol, Dottery is umpteen times better than Pyburn, plus, THEY PLAY DIFFERENT POSITIONS.

Understandable. But LSU’s defense isn’t playing bend but don’t break. They are an attacking defense that is consistently forcing 3 and outs.
