I’m not trolling. Tennessee’s offense will be that bad.

Why would the offense be bad? They bring in a guy that is a premier offensive coach with very good talent to work with....

Bailey 6’5 225 high 4* guy with a cannon
Hooker 6’4 220 Dual threat transfer
Salter 6’2 185 Dual threat freshman

WR is deep and talented
RB young but talented
Oline is a question but with a new coach and decent talent
Hell even TE is ok on paper.

If this team doesn’t win 6-7 games it will be because of the defense lacking depth or too many injuries. The O will be able to play with most teams despite being young.

I almost feel sorry for you guys. You are going to hate Heupel and his offense so bad sometime in the near future.

Based on their past will it be zone or man pass coverage with these new guys? Some of both?

Depends on position coach and depth. Looks like zone right now. If it’s Willie “Thud” Martinez it will not matter because he teaches guys not to tackle but to just run into guys. So it’s INT or chunk play ball.

Smoke all the ink in the world isn't going to get the Vols out of their current funk. They will have to play their way out.

The famous line: "We win football games the old-fashioned way. We earn it."

Best of luck going forward.

Most people love him til he leaves, then they find tons of faults with his system.

The league has transitioned to a pass happy league where tempo and O dominate. Quick 3 and outs are going to be part of it at times. That’s a huge part of why it took so long to hire a DC. But overall the advantage out weighs the drawbacks.

Please don’t misinterpret my position. This team isn’t going to be good in the near future. It isn’t a national championship caliber team nor is there one in the near future barring the unforeseen. I still expect depth issues and a lack of elite talent and the inherent drawbacks of staff and NCAA penalties to keep this a 6-8 win team for the next 3 years or so minimum. Right now good enough is beating Kentucky, Vandy, UofSC, Mizzou and bad OCC teams with helpful draws from the west adding a W some years.

I have no illusions about this program and the fact it’s going to be years before it’s in a position to be more than solid again.

The 5-2 is the base defense that a lot of Pee-Wee league football teams run. By the time they reach middle school, it falls by the wayside for this very reason.

For fricks sake,he ran a 3-4...much like
Multiple P5 and NFL teams and the same defense Bama won the NC with in 2017.

He ran a 3-4 with the OLBs rolled up to the line of scrimmage...

From the 2019 Orange and White Game

As do multiple teams at times who run the 3-4 including those in the NFL

Do you think he's gonna run anything complex in a spring game?

This is exactly what coach Saban told his dad and Henry T. Wait out the one-year transfer rule without penalty. Otherwise, it's not an advantage to sit. Henry apparently wants to go pro after his Junior year.

I liked Henry T. and would love to see him return but his father should’ve said nothing to the press. Henry wants to keep good relationships here but dad’s interview makes it sound like the only thing he cares about is himself. Henry has always come across far better than that. His dad did him a disservice.

I read the volnation threads and if Henry T can still play for the orange after that plague he's a much better man than me. The guy was in the transfer portal when his dad talked about the Nick Saban discussion he had.

Sentimore and Kennedy are 2 recent Bama transplants that Tennessee was more than willing to embrace so it's pretty much just petty jealousy to start with.

1) Don't feel sorry for use, weve beaten you 2 years in a row

2) We lose to pretty much everyone, all the time. We usually struggle to score points. IF Heupel's offense scores a bunch of points and we still lose, eh, at least its more fun to watch than what we are used to.

Losing a game 42-3 is at least a little more tolerable than losing 34-7.

WRs
Jones JR 6’ 200 SR
Hyatt 6’ 175 SO
Keyton 6’3 200 SO
Calloway 6’ 200 SO
Tillman 6’3 215 JR
Wideman 6’4 205 SO

RB
Smalls 6’ 200 FR
Evans 5’10 225 SO
Hodge 6’2 225
Beckwith 6’5 225

In Heupel’s system he likes to rotate RBs heavily. Beckwith I listed at RB but he is an above average pass catcher and can split wide as a mismatch. Last year in a very short year UCF had 3 WRs with more than 70 carries (758, 687, 382 yards) and 4 WRs with more than 390 yards (1,039, 979, 539, 391). And that was 10 total games.

O is not going to be an issue. Book mark it for post season review. Heupels O system puts up yards and points everywhere it goes. Yes Grey would have thrived in this system but honestly not as much as it Pruitt we’re still micromanaging Chaney.

Henry Ts dad wanted him at Bama to begin with. He has the talent and ball instincts to be a better NFL LB than College honestly.

Volnation is a straight up homer board no better or worse than most other team boards. The really good team boards usually out grow the decent posters and get overloaded by know nothing/everything posters. But as bad as Volnation is they are still better than real life UGA fans.

Dooley experimented briefly with the 6-2-5, to no avail.

The slant was his Kryptonite. I saw games where 6 guys would drop in coverage and no one covering the slant
