Was not aware of the below

quote:

In January 2015, NCAA schools passed legislation that required Power 5 conference schools, including Alabama and other SEC schools, to renew scholarships annually regardless of athletic performance. Previously, most scholarships were subject to annual renewal. Schools outside the Power 5 such as Louisiana Tech, Goff’s previous stop, are not required to renew scholarships annually.

It sounds to me like the admin is laying the groundwork for bringing him in and telling him to resign for personal reasons with a negotiated buyout. If half of this stuff is true, they can fire him with cause.

A link to an open letter from a person connected to the Alabama baseball program. It's pretty damning

My understanding is he's a baseball alum. I'm not completely sure. He's got connections somewhere to know what he alleges to know.

Well he had a shitty season and he pissed off all the players and supposedly told them he was pulling their schollies. Bye

Wait, wait, wait Bama has players on scholarship this year?

But in seriousness if they let him go after 1 season (All of Gaspard's players) then just lol.

Oh look, powerful know-it-all Bama boosters wanting to to call the shots for the UA Athletic Dept. Why does that sound familar?

Looking forward to the day Saban retires and things get back to normal in the Tide football program.

Ohhhh the irony of a Bama fan actually taking this approach.

even without the conference titles Bama has won under Saban, they still have more conference (and national) titles than anyone else in the SEC. What exactly are you fooling yourself that "normal" is? That stretch of Mikes isn't "normal" for Bama, bruh.

He probably means Bama hiring one of their own (Dabo) and having Boosters run the program again. That was the norm before Saban.

The way he treated y'all (can you say SWEEP?), I figure that you're glad if he's gone.

I know several of the guys that played under him at LaTech, most of them still there, and they were THRILLED to see him go..

Given he brought them more success than the program has ever tasted, that speaks volumes. I have heard some horror stories along the lines of what's been alleged.

He's toast. If you're going to act like a total douche bag, that's fine. But you better not win 5 out of 30 conference games in the process, not to mention all the other crap that has supposedly gone on.

With that said, I think a lot of the program is soft as hell right now.

That's not necessarily true, Golloway at AU got fired despite making a regional/ 30+W season

That guy is a grade A a-hole though. Heard a story that he'd call the groundscrew at 3am to do things like bring him extension cords and berate them constantly at that hour.

AU's grounds crew are great and work their arse off. It was really uncalled for

Makes me wonder what kind of fricking due diligence Alabama did on the guy? If they did any at all.
