Hell no! He does not have any consistent career longevity and he’s a chaos monger. He finally rehab’d his image, OM made him look good, but I will clue you in: remember back in the day when LK was on staff at Bama? Saban did not want LK to stick around for long, he loved keeping Golding, however. Drove me a bit nuts as a coordinator at times, but Golding is a great recruiter and will do well at OM.

The difference you have a 50 million dollar roster that was supposed to make the playoffs and contend for a national championship, big stadium, top facilities etc..you struggle with Louisiana tech...your QB has 5 ints already and your fan base ran its mouth for the last 9 months. This game was circled, Kiffin's first sec game as a Tiger with all that you got beat..your schedule isn't getting any easier your already on the doorstep of missing the playoffs.

I would take Golding. Not based on coaching ability, but because he is less likely to embarrass a program, get them in trouble, and leave a trail of wreckage when he leaves.

Golding. Lane won’t be at lsu more than five years either by choice or not. He burns everything to the ground on his way out. Not a good man

I think it all depends on what “long term” means. Every 3 years, Lane renegotiated his contract and there’s a shitload of drama each time. Lane’s a great coach. A lot of times, the focus on him DOES help his players by diverting the pressure away from them. But it also can really derail games and seasons when he’s found his next thing to fixate on.
