This was the only way they could move forward.

Now BK can get paid his buyout.
Now Sexton can work his magic.

It removes part of the cloud of uncertainty as it pertains to Lane.

This is what has been happening all along. LSU has continued to pay him according to his contract.
The “for cause” angle came from BK’s legal team.

Good. This should have been the move from the beginning. Pay the man what he’s owed and move on. If you wanna do these big contracts you gotta be willing to pay when it doesn’t work out.
It appears that you don't see the big picture. Payoff BK and hire LK= $150 MILLION.....MINIMUM! This makes the TAM/Jimbo Fisher fiasco look like small potatoes.

The ball is in his court now.

Let the mitigation begin.

I’m all in favor of that if something can be agreed upon. The less lsu has to pay the better, but trying to weasel out of a contract we came up with and agreed to because we didn’t get the result we wanted does nothing but give us a bad look and make future coaches think twice about coming to lsu imo.

It always cracks me up how clueless the majority of this board is about how much money is around LSU.

The GDP of LA is larger than Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and almost double that of Mississippi. When you break it down to per capita the numbers are even better for LA.

And LSU is the only big time player in the state.

And yet nearly all of their football success occured in a 17 season span from 2003-2019.

So they’re going to pay
Lane ~15m a year
Assistant pool ~15m a year
Brian Kelly $9m a year

And then fund $25m a year in NIL

Well damn...Some LSU fans assured us that they were definitely gonna be on the hook for less than $20 million. BK was a drunk and a cheater, ya know?

How are they gonna pay for this shite + Kiffin?

I guess wait and see.

LSU just threw $50+ million to a bum to clear the deck for Lane.
