For the most part, yes. See my add above with the reasoning for Auburn to petition to have it at Auburn. thats why they[UA] played so many games there. it was a much larger stadium

Maybe I didn't ask that correctly...what I meant was, when the decision came that the IB would be played on campus, knowing how heavily pro-bama the state is, why did they basically say "ok we'll play at your place in Auburn and also in bham" rather than demanding they play at home in tuscaloosa as well...was it simply about capacity? I just looked up the series and see that the first game in ttown was in 2000...that blows my mind.

Well, Birmingham is much closer to Tuscaloosa and that was pretty much a home game for them (I seem to recall Bama playing more than one game at Legion in those days) so I would expect that it was all about capacity and playing in Birmingham.

It’s only a 3 game deal for mizzou at WMS. If it’s not sold out with good atmosphere than that will be it. It’s also a 3 year deal for spring game but not sure they get the waiver.

One thing a lot of folks don’t realize is that back in the day, the home and visiting teams split the net ticket revenue from games 50/50. That’s why Bear Bryant agreed to play Rice and LSU every year on the road—their stadiums held over 25000 more than Kyle Field, so A&M made more money that way.

That’s another reason, besides getting to Auburn, why Auburn had to schedule so many games off campus—it wasn’t worth it for the visitors to go the Auburn, but Birmingham was a different story. In the SEC, where there was no conference imposed schedule, teams like Tennessee had the leverage to force Auburn to play their home games in a larger venue.

In LR, you're playing in front of a bunch of bama-grade sidewalk fans who can't spell Fayetteville, let alone find it on a map. There are a few exceptions, but not many, as I'm sure anyone who's had to walk through the tailgate areas to get to the stadium at WMS can attest.

I haven't gone to a LR game in a decade, and one of the reasons I stopped bothering is because of this. Yes, they're rowdies. But a lot of the tailgate scene there has turned gross. There'll be like 45,000 people attending the game, and 100,000 people tailgating.

I wish Razorback stadium sat on a golf course like WMS.

The one time in the history of modern football that Arkansas was relevant and had a chance to beat a number one team at home is your example?

Although, I am shocked that the high brass in Fayetteville were able to pay attention to the game long enough to clap and cheer.

Mad respect, Fayetteville!!!

Totally agree. It would be cool if DWR had tailgating that didnt suck, or tailgating at all for that matter.

Arkansas was more successful when they played more games in LR. Program went downhill when games started getting pulled.

Maybe if you are only 15 years old. We were liquid garbage when we started dropping games in the 90's, then we became moderate garbage with Nutt, then a real football team with Petrino, the liquid garbage again with Bert.

Need to knock down barnhill to create open space for tailgating. Dear Alice Walton how about a new Alice Walton 5,000 seat volleyball arena? And could you also refurbish uncle bud while you are at it

and for 100 years before walmart blessed the area it was a bunch of toothless cousin fricking hillbillies that couldn't read or write. The Timberlands of the South, Farmland in the East, and Little Rock kept you hilljacks fed and alive for a century. have a little perspective.

Mizzou could do us a real solid - SEC policy requires the visiting team to agree to play an off-campus conference game.

Say you won’t play at WMS.
