This looks bad
Little brother seems to have blown his budget. Looking to big brother to help him out

Damn, who could have foreseen that minting basket weaving and indigenous Ecuadorian history majors would lead to a dwindling fan base lacking for big-money donors?

Little brother whorns so desperate to emulate our success. Can't blame them really.

Well this explains the footage I found of Texas trying to get into the SEC.

What looks bad is an A&M fan calling Texas "little brother."

Literally, the only place in the country that thinks A&M is the big brother to UT is college station.

Wrong, most educated people know that Aggie is much larger and older

On the day of department layoffs last year, Del Conte said that the layoffs, job reductions and other pay cuts would save the department $13.1 million.
Then he fired football coach Tom Herman and his staff four months later – a move projected to cost nearly $25 million in contract buyout costs after they posted a 7-3 record last year, including a 55-23 win in the Alamo Bowl. To replace him, Texas gave new coach Steve Sarkisian a $34.2 million contract over six years.
Awkward.

Larger because your admission rates are quite laughable in comparison. Older because it was designated to be a branch of The University of Texas. That's literally in the Texas Constitution.
Can't blame you though. At least you're consistent in the older and larger schtick literally every time this comes up. (and getting laughed at by the rest of the board in the process)

Two good schools. It's a shame they both suck at football.

Some unasked for advice to A&M people. Calling TX “little brother” is just eye-rolling, trying way too hard. It seems to be an attempt to throw back the moniker you have been tagged with.
Same with Auburn trying the same thing. In short it actually looks almost desperate….like a playground underling chanting “am not, you are.”
Now if you called them “crazy uncle,” or “evil twin,” (my favorite because it implies equality with moral superiority) it might resonate … whereas “little brother” just causes other people to wince.
Take it for what it’s worth…but I am a renowned wordsmith. Let’s see what the headline would be…
…Evil twin having financial problems…
Looks pretty interesting to me…

That’s a brutal column. The part about cutting staff then firing Hermsn with $25M payoff shortly after is such bad optics.

Historically, Texas had a much larger enrollment than A&M throughout the 20th century, in part because A&M didn’t allow women to enroll until 1963. Now Texas A&M’s enrollment of about 65,000 at College Station is among the biggest in the nation, bigger than Texas with about 52,000 in Austin.
quote:
“For years, there’s no question that because of the size of the schools, Texas was looked upon as the bigger school and the big brother,” former Aggies football coach Jackie Sherrill told USA TODAY Sports. “That’s no longer the case.”

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of a public institution (although the AD may not be the at) trimming fat as opposed to expanding budget. I’m not gonna make fun of them for that. I’d wish all
If Louisiana public entities did the same.
